Default Off-road track coming to Port Charlotte County

The driver's stand is complete - 40 foot long with a handicap ramp. The track base is done - 170 x 85. We are now just waiting for the county to finish the agreement and then haul in the clay to build the jumps. It should be finished soon. The track is in Rotunda West, south of Sarasota and North of Fort Myers.

Check back weekly for updates:

The date has been set - July 13th. Track layout construction should start soon after.

JC,

Here is a page from our old web site of the old track.

As I understand it they moved the drivers stand to the new track so, maybe!!!

It's on a "free" hosting site so there are ad banners at the top!!!!

Yep, it's the old driver's stand that has been updated for easier access. And all of the weak boards have been replaced.

Drivers stand looks good Gene, Not bad of a distance to drive either. When you get racing I'll try to convince the 4-6 of us that have started traveling to take a trip your way atleast once a month. Last Friday night 3 of us went to Farmers hobby.

We will race what ever classes that have enough entries. It is going to be a big track, so I doubt there will be many electric classes though.

If the track is not bumpy, 1/10 4wd electric cars usually have the fastest lap times. The thing is that nitro is way more popular here in FL. At the FSORS, they get as many as 204 nitro entries and only 55-85 electric. I know up north where it snows, indoor electric is still popular.

Club level <<< local racing

Ele at Farmers and DC have made big jumps in popularity << did I spell that right !!

At Farmers there is a "Make a RC Wish" program. Some racers get together to put together a CRTR Ele buggy/truck as a give away to a kid that would not have the $$$$ to get it to this hobby. We are building #4 at this time.

CRTR <<< Complete Ready To Race

"Make a RC Wish I" was a RC10B3 in October, now his dad races (RC10T4) and he gave the buggy to his cousin when he got his RC10T4, the cousin races now!!! <<< that makes three "New" racers in Ele.

Some Ele (and gas truck) guys from Farmers visited DC and gas truck and Ele classes race almost every week now.

All it takes is for someone to show up and run Ele and show how fast they are and others will join in!!

Watched the FSORS Nitro races Sat at Farmers and got the "got to race burn"!!

I raced Ele Stock Truck race , my first FSORS race.

FSORS WHOLE diff world of racing, NOT club/Local level!!!!

Got beat big time BUT I'LL BE BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wish you the best luck Gene! I hope that September 23 is the last date they give you and you actually get to start building! We went through the same thing at our track. It was more than a year from our first meeting to the time we finally got to start building.
