Yes. The cut off will be 120. Then 30 entries will be saved for the day of the race for the locals who only want to race 1 round. After we get 120 pre etnries, I will take down the pre entry form and make a flyer for each round.
The 1/8 Expert Buggy class is the only class that will have payouts this year. Machine's R/C Hobbies is the sponsor and is putting up $500 towards the cash purse. The rest will come from entry fees. If this year is a sell out, then in 2008 we will expand to 6 rounds and add an expert 1/8 arena truck class with payouts also.
The other series sponsors will help pay for trophys, shirts, door prizes, and prizes for the raffle.
Nice! Do you think Blab will get some of the events on TV?
What does the sponsors do exactly? Does the $$ they contribute go towards payouts to the winners or does it just go to R/C Pro?
I am trying to get Blab TV to video some of the rounds and hopefully get them aired. I have been running a TV comercial for my hobby shop for over a year on their station, including clips from races. I have also been a guest star as the FL State Series Champion on their sports talk show a few times with more video of 1/8 buggys on my old track. The hosts are blown away every time because they can't believe that R/C racing is not on regular TV and pretty much unheard of in the mainstream public.
