I have a 1/10 DD Cobra Nemesis sprint car and i am looking for a fast fantom motor. I am looking for some help on people who have used these type of motors. What should i be looking for when i buy these motors. If anyone could help me with this that would be great.
First of all what kind of track surface do you run on and is there any Motor rules for your Sprint Car Class at the local Track???
I have been running dirt oval on the Dirt Oval.com Series and the R/C Pro Series for over 12 years. Just as a Recomendation i Run the " FANTOM ION 1 " series of motors in all of my 14 cars wether it be in Oval, Offroad, Onroad, i love the Power Delivery that these motors have. Also with the ION 1 Series of motors you can also put a 13mm Torque Rotor in all of the ION 1 series. So you can really tune the ION 1 series to the track and the car that you are running.

Hi Az, thanks for your info. I'm running onroad sedan with SPX and Fantom Ion 1 13.5. Track is high flow with 135 feet straight. Now my FDR is 5.58, the high rpm kicks in at about after 60% - 70% of the straight. At the infield, it run pretty consistent, no sudden power with enough torque. Question is how can I improve the overall performance since everytime I got caught by the other driver w/ same speedo but Express Motorsports Duo (13.5) at the straight. If I gear up, I don't know if it will even delay the kicks in or if I gear down, he's definately could pass mine's at the straight. Please help.

Well it seems to me that your track is pretty well wide open. I would say that my recomendation is to put the 13mm Rotor in there and gear up ALOT, The local Tourning tracks here in AZ. In my TC5R i am running about a 3.9 to 4.10 Final gear ratio do to the Extreme amount of torque that this rotor makes. I have been able to put a Faster gear on this Motor with the larger Rotor. It seems to also run Cooler but with a much larger Power Band. Also what Battery are you using???

Well looks like I have to run my 17.5 in my truck tonight.I couldnt find a 13.5 to replace the lrp the stoped worken.I even called Fantom to check and see if they were instock or not.All I got was a voice mail,I left message with my cell number and havent gotta a response yet.Can you shed some light on this???

Yeah that does suck.Hope the get it fixed soon.I check with Stormer and the have EVERYTHING but a 13.5.I will wait until I here something.

Sorry for my slow response, but as Cowboy mentioned, we did have a problem with our power that took out our main computer. Basically it put us behind 2 weeks with everything.
Regarding your voice mail that you said you left, I am the one that replies to all of the messages, but I don't recall getting one from you. I have my notes in front of me, from all of the phone message, from the past 2 weeks and I don't have one from any person named Don. I apologize if I somehow missed it, because we always do our best to return all phone messages.
Regarding 13.5 ION motors, it's looking like we should have more back in stock around July 24th or so. I apologize to everyone that has been looking to get one from us. We try to keep a good supply of them on hand, but we got a surge of orders for them the past couple of weeks and got caught shorthanded.
No I did leave a message.I called the number off the website.Went to someones voice mail.I dont remember his name. But it did say Fantom Racing when it answered.I knew someone would contact me once everything was fixed.Its no big deal either way,I found me a motor to hold me over(I hope) to they are back in stock.
But I do thank you for letting me know whats going on with them.I was going to call again tomorrow,but you saved me the phone call.I will be placen a order as soon as the come in.
