Default Question on 40c 5000mah Lipos

Hello,

2 quick questions for you;

1. Are your 40c 5000mah lipos in stock?
2. What charge rate do you recommend? Can these cells handle 2c?

Thanks!

I always charge mine at 5A. They provide enough power that you shouldnt risk damaging them by charging them at a higher rate. I keep them balanced at all times as well...

Hello,

Thank you for your message. Sorry for my slow reply, but our business computer has been down the past week due to a lightning strike.

Regarding your questions, yes we do have them in stock, and we recommend charging them at 1C for longevity and safety.

Thanks again,
Jeff

If your planning on attending any large events like ROAR you won't be allowed to charge over the recommended charge rate. Plus the 40Cs have plenty of power.

Hi EJ20,

Thank you for your inquiry.

From what I can tell with my research, your charger does not have a balancing feature, which means that you need to purchase a stand-alone balancer, that you will insert inline between your charger and battery while charging. I recommend the Hyperion and you can purchase it online at rclipos.com Here is the link: http://www.rclipos.com/HP-EOS10A.htm

Once you have this balancer, you will either need our FAN26111 adapter for a 2 cell pack or FAN26113 for a 4 cell pack.

Hope that helps.

Take care,
Jeff

In that case, I don't think the Checkpoint balancer is compatible with any brand Li-Po batteries that have balance taps like our packs do (external plug type). The Checkpoint balancer only works with Li-Po's with bullet style balance holes. If you want to use Li-Po's like ours, you will need to purchase a separate balancer such as like the Hyperion one I recommended previously.

Another option would be to contact customer support at www.rclipos.com and see if they can make a special adapter for you.

Actually, the checkpoint balancer is exactly the same as the Great Planes Equinox. The only difference is the Equinox will do 5 cells and the Checkpoint will only do 2. Here is a link for the tap you would need to charge your Fantom 40c packs through a Checkpoint Balancer

Us this one if you want to charge your packs over 3 amps.

Hope this helps!
