Default Rotor size?

Hi, Just want to know the size of the rotor in Fantom's DUO 13.5? (?mm). Asking because I have 1 right now it feels like a lot more toqure than Express Motorsports's. And I've seen there are different sizes rotor are selling at Stormer hobbies. Want to try some other sizes rotor to get little more RPM.

THANKS!

Default Rotor size

It comes Stock with a 12.5mm Rotor. If you go to a 12mm rotor it will give you more RPM but it also takes away some torque. If you put the 13mm Rotor in it the Torque goes throught the roof and it seems to run COOLER the best series of Fantom Motors to work with is the ION 1 series. As a Arizona Team Fantom Driver the ION 1 Has Proved itself in a Very HOT enviroment. In my B4 i run a 13.5 ION 1 with the 13mm Rotor. but i can run a 36/78 and after a 6 minute heat with a 2 minute warm up it only comes off at 135 degrees. the same way with my T4. My B44 i run a 10.5 ION 1 with the 13mm Rotor and i can run a 32/78 after a 10 minute heat and a 15 minute main i come off at 145even when it is 109 degrees out side.

Thumbs up

Fantom Brushless Motors and Lipos have been the hottest selling items in their category for the last 6-8 months at Redneck RC. Fantom sells a very high quality product; always have and always will. Regardless of who manufactures their lipos, I can tell you there are no complaints here in Central NY!

I have been having a look at the ION2 series of modified motors and it seems to be a case of a rebadged Vortex motor.

Is this the case?

What is the standard rotor for these motors?

Are there tuning rotors?

Do the have the mini impeller?

Cheers.

If you have both can you compare them a bit for me? I know the end plate is different but the rest looks very similar. What size rotor? Does it have an impeller? Does it look like it has many winds like a SP motor or few winds like an LRP?

Cheers.

Hey fantom got a quick question for yas. Are you or plan too, come out with a Lipo that takes 4mm bullet connectors? Im not a real big fan of ANY connector but If i cant hard wire it Id rather use the bullet connectors.
I realy want to try out your batteries, but this is kinda holding me back.
Thanks

I'm not a big fan of the bullet type connectors myself. Since I went Lipo I've been using the Deans and no problems at all. I always hardwired before but this makes charging and running so much easier. You love these batteries!

Switch to Deans, it will be well worth it. The difference in resistance, if any, is so small that you will not be able to tell the difference.

Yeah I been thinking about that. But I also dont like the balance plug on the battery. I already had to take my smc pack apart becuz the wire broke. they just dont seem to be all that flexible. I like the idea of the plug and balancer staying together also. Just seems less of a hassle. And I dont have to worry where the kids put it when they were done. Its allways on the plug. It sucks my LHS doesnt carry Fantom so I realy dont know if there balancer wire are more flexable or not.
