I would send a E-mail to Jeff at support@fantomracing.com or call him at the shop 269-483-0200. I waited a while but after privately talking to Jeff and E-mailing him I got the sponsorship that I wanted, doing that on a open forum is no the most professonal way to conduct business.
Good Luck
Erik

I sent in my resume about 3 months ago, and still havent got any word back. When do you guys usually get around to responding to those?
Thanks
Hello,
Sorry for the slow reply, but we are really backed up with resumes. We typically receive at least 3 resumes per day. We try to respond to every request, so please be patient and we will reply to you.

I initially contacted Fantom about sponsorship when I purchased a 10.5 BL from their site, but like all sponsorships it seemed too results based, for me racing is fun, not an all out to win. Most guys at my track gear a 10.5 at 4.5-5.0 and it comes off at 165 degrees, mine I gear at 5.34, is every bit as fast down the straight and comes off at 110! So much so quite a few ppl I race with have bought the Trinity motors from a local supplier albeit at a higher price, Fantoms loss I guess (same motor) sometimes the best people to push your product aren't necessarily the ones winning EVERY A main!
I'm just not hardcore enough to make a "RC resume" (what is this a job interview?) and I just tell ppl my Fantom 10.5 brushless is a Trinity 10.5
Oh and if a Fantom rep wants to argue the point, it was invoice # 27433 and the motor runs well, but the local supplier I think is now sold out of Trinity 10.5's!

What indication from anyone at Fantom makes you think that we are "results based"? Like any company that sponsors people, whether it be football, basketball, baseball, or an r/c team, we all prefer to win at whatever we do, however, winning is not everything to us here at Fantom...we like to have fun, too. We also take into consideration sportsmanship, helpfulness with other racers, ability to have fun and not take things too serious, and your influence on other racers to purchase Fantom products. In no way is winning all that we consider, but there is nothing wrong with having it be part of our criteria. I don't know of any company, r/c or other type, that is willing to sponsor someone if winning isn't one of their goals. Who said that we wouldn't sponsor you? As far as I can tell, we haven't responded to any sponsorship request that you have sent us. As I indicated to another person on this forum, we are really backed up with resumes, but we eventually reply to everyone, whether we choose to sponsor them or not. I apologize to everyone that has sent in resumes, that we haven't got to yet, including you. We appreciate everyone's understanding.
I'm just not hardcore enough to make a "RC resume" (what is this a job interview?) In a way, yes it is a job interview. A driver's resume provides us with important information that we use to make sure that we are choosing the right person to represent our company. There are many r/c companies that will sponsor anyone that contacts them, but Fantom is not one of these companies. Obtaining a Fantom sponsorship is not easy, but for those that are on our team they can feel a sense of accomplishment because their sponsorship was provided based on their merits and not just handed to them just because they contacted us. Imagine how it would feel for all of the current Fantom drivers if we just sponsored anyone that contacts us. A sponsorship is a responsibility that we don't take lightly and I'm confident that all of our sponsored drivers appreciate and respect this. and I just tell ppl my Fantom 10.5 brushless is a Trinity 10.5 Trinity is the exclusive importer of these motors into the U.S., but technically they are a Chinese based motor. They are available from a number of companies...some choose Trinity, while other choose Fantom or others. Basically it comes down to what company you want to support. We greatly appreciate all the people that support us.

sorry you feel this way!!! but hands down, Fantom products are one of the best out there with good quality control and great customer service... on a side note.. Sponsorship does not mean you just go out and win races, YOU also have to go out and market the product and produce sales for your sponsor and speak well of the product.. in return for sponsorship, if you are not willing to do that than it's going to hard to get any sponsor!!! It also depending on how YOU are as a person ON and OFF the track, how you conduct your self with other racers... these are all contributing factors in the decision.. as you can see it's not just all about going to the track, and winning an A-main races..
I'm not sponsored by Fantom but I can tell you I've run their brushed motors for as long as I can remember and they have always performed extremely well for me. I'm now using the brushless motors with the same success. I don't think bashing the motor or company on an open thread is the proper way to get answers from the company although I think they answered it very professionally. Keep up the good work Fantom!
