Wow .. i typed this up and it kinda sounded like a personals ad, so i had to retype it.

I'm not new to the area however i am new to RC cars in the area. The few people i used to bash with have either quit the hobby or moved out of state.

I have plenty of cars:

Brushless Off-Road: Losi 8b RTR w/ Tekno brushless conversion (in progress)
Nitro Off-Road: Losi 8b RTR
Nitro Off-Road: XTM XT2 RTR
Nitro Off-Road: XTM XT2 racer RTR
Nitro Monster Truck: Losi LST2 RTR
Nitro On Road: Ofna DM-One RTR

Unfortunately i have all these toys but no one, and no where to play with them. I am also contemplating purchasing a stadium type truck (brushless or brushless conversion) because it seems like there are quite a few people that are into those. Any suggestions on a truck ? was looking at the Losi Speed T (i am a losi fan)

Any groups locally? What tracks are available (i know of TRCR)

Portland R/C Raceway is excited to announce that we will be putting on the ROCKSTAR Winter Short Course Race Series starting Friday, December 4th. The track will open on Friday's at 4:00pm and racing will start at 7:30pm.

We will run 2 qualifiers and single A-Mains all at 6-minutes.

This will be a 6 week series with 2 races for the next 3 months. 4 races out of the 6 will count toward the overall points. 1 bonus point will be awarded for TQ and 1 bonus point will be awarded for every race attended. Since we already race on Tuesday and Saturday here at PRCR, we decided on Friday nights to cater to all the Short Course drivers in the area. This also will help not to conflict with RC Plus in Salem and Timezone.

The points system will go:
1. 100
2. 98
3. 97
4. 96
5. 95
6. 94
7. 93
8. 92
9. 91
10. 90 and so on...

We will have 3 classes for the series:
1. Novice Short Course Truck
2. Stock Short Course Truck
3. Modified Short Course Truck

Novice Short Course Truck will be carefully monitored for beginner drivers. This class is for those people who are just starting out and learning how to drive and race. All Novice drivers will have to abide by Stock Short Course rules.

Stock Short Course Truck will have to go by these rules:
1. Either the stock motor that comes with the Short Course Truck kit or a 17.5 brushless motor.
2. Any 7.2 Ni-Cd or Ni-Mh / 7.4 Li-Po battery is allowed.
3. Any stock tire that comes with any of the Short Course Truck kits is allowed.
4. No Ball Diffs are allowed. This is a stock class and all the trucks come stock with gear diffs.
5. No option parts that change the geometry of the car. RPM parts are fine as long as they are the same parts that replace the exsisting one.

Modified Short Course Truck will go by these rules:
1. Any motor is allowed.
2. Any 7.2 or 8.4 Ni-Cd Ni-Mh / 7.4 Li-Po battery is allowed.
3. Any tire that is designed for a Short Course Truck is allowed.
4. Ball Diffs are allowed.
5. No option parts that change the geometry of the car. RPM parts are fine as long as they are the same parts that replace the exsisting one.
I would like to put out a big shout out to Joey Lancaster of ROCKSTAR for helping make all this possible.

ROCKSTAR along with many other sponsors to be named later will be putting up some pretty sick prizes for the top 10 in each class.

On the behalf of HobbyTown USA in Wilsonville, Oregon, I am happy to announce that on Saturdays from 3pm to 8pm we have the new Kyosho dNaNo's for you guys to come try out on our Kyosho carpet track.

I personally have drove a few and am hooked. Probably in mid November racing will get going (schedule is being planned). There will be timing and scoring. Right now I am working on a race night that doesn't conflict with the on-road tracks and off-road tracks around here.

Each dNaNo has a built in transponder and use's a 2.4ghz radio made by Kyosho (Cant use a regular 2.4 radio like a Spektrum). No dNaNo has the same transponder number. They have rubber tires and multiple cool features you would find on a 1/10th scale on-road car.

I know this is a "racing" section, but I'm sure there are some guys that bash on here too. Lately, I've been wanting to find some new places to drive my truck but it's tough to find places without endlessly driving around, so I made a google map where everyone can post their favorite spots or a new construction site or whatever.

Suggestions for what to put in the description of the location:
Terrain
Surface
Cool features
Recommended Truck (scale, power, tires)

I put up a few of my favorite locales if there is anybody up in skagit county. If you don't want to or can't post a spot yourself, just PM me the street address and details and I will put it up for you :)

Anyway, here's the link!!
http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=en...5,28.54248&z=6

P.S. I'm aware we're going into winter, but if we build this up now, you won't have any trouble finding a place to bash around in the summer ;)
