Hi Guys

I am looking for an onroad car to drive on very smooth parking lots or netball courts. This will be my first onroad as my other cars are offroad (FG BAJA, FG MT and HPI Baja).

Now, which should I get?

1. Used FG EVO 4, 7, 8
2. Used HARM SX3
3. Brand New FG Sportline.

i happened upon the ONE RL24 Pro Buggy chassis from one of the unknown local guys. he had this and the one Red CORR Truck chassis/body panels Rob built a yr or so ago.

he decided to sell the Buggy Chassis and i snapped it up.

plan on running this for ice/dirt ovals and Dirt Tracks. i think it may need some FLM Xtended arms, but will see after i get it rolling...

i loved this buggy when i first seen it, so when i seen it up for sale i couldnt resist buying it.

will add more pics as i put it together.

im going to have to made some small modifications to get the chassis to fit where its ment to. it setting about 1/3 to 1/2 inch high atm. once i make the mods, it ll set nicely.

i was running the JP Side bleed but the cage wont allow for it, so ill probably install the JP Track Pipe for a few, and order a CPI Big Bore for it.

added some of these killer scale sponsor stickers

to get an idea of the size of the chassis, here it is setting infront of my 32 inch tv/monitor.

and a couple of it on the baja after it had all of Turtle Daves track cleaned off it.

will have to start to do my mods needed to make the cage fit into position next. will snap a few pics of the mods i did, then i ll be time to install the pipe. will have to look at some good pics to see if/how its going to fit. these were made with a stock exhaust in mind. but we cant have that. lol

few pics of it pretty much mounted up. i had to open the top of my RAMTech Shock tower to get the mounts in place. all in all there are 12 mounting points between the cage and the chassis.

2 front, 2 front shock tower, 2 front roll cage mount (dont use stock cage/center support), 2 body post area (cut the old body posts off and the upper part of an old center cage, then drill a hole in the aligning peg above the old center cage mount and install corse thread screws, 2 at the rear shock tower, and 2 where the rear long bar set mounts.

can have the body on/off in around 5 minutes. no center roll cage so filter changing can be done by removing one body panel. one panel removal to refill the tank.

dont have the pipe on it yet, and have to redo the shocks. may have it ready to run for a round tomorrow afternoon if im not working.

as it sets right now nearly ready less wheels it weighs 27.2 lbs. so not bad, should be around 30 to 31 ready to roll.

front shock tower mod

cleaned up the center weld so it sat better at the front shock tower

I am looking at buying another Baja. I have HPI now. I however do allot of modding and am looking at modding the new one as well. If I plan on upgrading allot of stuff is it worth going with a King Motor, or some other clone. Any advise.

Anyone know a good economical source for 1/8 late model bodies? It seems the few offering them have a monopoly on the market. I would like to convert an Ofna LX-E1 into a dirt LM but $65.00 for an unpainted body seems a bit much. Thanks.

Does anyone know where I could find weldable solid axles? If there's no weldable solid axle then plastic or aluminum with reasonable tabs for links would work.

Okay---I opened my big mouth too many times-- and for my punishment-- I'll try to post many pictures--and a description of the "BUILD" for my new FG Evo 8!! I bought the car through Bob Sarnelle of VS Modelsport. They are the primary importer of all things FG!! They are very helpful with the correct parts and "setup" over the phone if you're interested in picking up a car.

I'm enlisting the help of master builder --Frank Killam-- to help me with this build. I'm learning to post pictures with this as well--so please bear with me--I'm learning a LOT of things at one time!!!! I've known Frank for over 35 years of racing all things on-road--from real cars to 1/12 scale and now on to 1/5 scale and he's kindly agreed to help me with my build.

To start with---I've got a pic of the "open box" with all the bits packed in there. I choose the factory BMW body for my initial set up. I plan on running this car in the GT class so I will be mounting one of Killam's new Corvette Bodies on the car. There's pics of my newly painted bodies as well--I've been painting slot cars and 1/10 scale cars with an "Airbrush". So picking up rattle cans is certainly a "forgotten art" for me!!! I forgot about the dreaded "bleed through" as you can see on the BMW--but I'll live and learn.

In the pics below you can see the box of parts on the left-- the complete car less body is in there!! Chassis--pipe and motor--mounted wheels and tires--kit came with soft A compound for rear and hard D compound for the fronts! Guess they want you to "push" a little when you first drive it!!
The Corvette body is done in Silver / Black/ and flourescent red.
The BMW body is Yellow / black and Green accent stripes.
