I race a Kyosho RRR Evo 2 and a HB Cyclone TC overe here in Norway and are thinking of taking one of them with me and maybe try a track in the US.
So any good shops and tracks in Houston? Prefferably some that not only sell RTR kits..

I've located a decent surface in a parking lot of a motorcycle shop on 59 south between 610 and bwy8. It can run sedan and 8th scale, most likely not the lemans cars though because it is not grade f asphalt it is more like Austin if you have been there and they are willing to seal it or grind the high areas I found in testing.

Many of us have talked about having a second track to run at to draw attention to the sport, this facility is directly on the 59 feeder and they are offering us an area about 200x120 and has an unobstructed view so we put some tents and some scaffolding up with a track design, people will see it.

Here are the loopholes, they would like us to run on saturday but sunday is fine. I am in the process of locating fire hose since it is free if you look at the right places so we would be short some plow discs and a timing system. We have no parts support, but we really don't at the moment anyway since most of us carry enough spares and order online.

My question to the Texas racers, are you interested enough for this to be worth our time? Lets say we can race for $5 and then we can hand count cars until we can buy an AMB system for about $3000 and upgrade to boards eventually since they are only about $1.50 per 2x4 so that is $3 for every 8 feet of 4x4 lane so even $600 would go pretty far. This would give us a new layout every weekend and a place to store the track with a motivated land owner that I may even be able to convince to take on some of these costs if we can bring enough attention to his store after a few events. ie, people stop to look at us and they look at motorcycles or ideally buy them. Saturdays are already a bike meet there which is automatically going to bring 30-50 people per day to at least see us and they are offering us snacks and drinks all day for free as well since they have them for the meet already.

We could use it as just a practice track and have some 'organized' practicing as well which makes it entirely free.

I've talked to Mike Eberley about it and he didn't see any conflict with his track and was not interested in being involved by being an onsite shop or by loaning out one of the amb decoders.
