Dunno if they are posted but I'd like to look at the rules before re-joining MSRA(don't have anything on-road ) and deciding what class to get into,what everyone else is running, what's allowed and whats not etc.

2010 MID SOUTH REGION RACING SCHEDULES

I thought it would be a good I idea to start a thread regarding the upcoming 2010 Asphalt Racing Schedules, so that we may get everyone on the same page in terms of race dates.

Over the course of the last couple seasons there have been many many mentions of getting the Memphis (MSRA) Schedule and the Jonesboro (Mid America RC Raceway) schedules to work in better harmony and even brief discussion of a points series between both cities. I would like to make this happen for 2010. I would like for all racers on both sides of the river to be able to make all races at each place if they so choose.

With that being said Ill start by laying out my tenative plans for the Jonesboro schedule. I do not plan to host nearly as many events as I have done in the past. This will make it much easier to make the schedules mesh, but mainly Im just looking to change things up a bit. I do however plan to have some "Feature" races that will be spread out all throughout the year. Some of my plans include,

TCS Warm-Up (this will be a tunning clinic intended to help newer drivers)

TOP GUN Shoot-Out (click link below for some hints of what to expect)

BTH Warm-Up (this will be a tunning clinic)

Mid America Regionals (to replace a State Race, or a ROAR regionals)

Fall Brawl Sparring Session (this will be a tunning clinic)

As you can see this is far fewer events than I have done in the past and there will be more focus on helping newer drivers rather than catering to already experienced drivers. I feel that this will be a good change and make each event hold a greater value. If you would like to take part in these tunning clinics by filling the roll of tutor for the day please feel free to contact me by P.M. You may be suprise at what you have to offer to a newbie.

I intent to hold these events in the order they are listed above. I would like arrange the dates of each event to align with the MSRA schedule. If we can do this and still come up with a points series between the two cities then that would be great.

I am hoping to get lots of helpfull constructive input on this topic so that we may plan the best outdoor season yet.

I talked to Boner over at byhalia raceway and he said he would host rc bracket racing on saturday mornings. It will be a anything goes, electric or nitro, offroad or onroad. If you run close to your dial in without breaking out you win. This type of racing is good because it dont matter if you got 1000$ truggy or a wal-mart rc car, or if your a pro driver or someone that bought an rc car yesterday, this type of racing will allow your basic rc enthusiast to win some $ and have fun doing it. So here is how it would go,

saturday morning anywhere from 9-3 or 10-3, Cash payout back to 1st 2nd and 3rd, you get as much T&T for one hour then time trials, if you get knocked out you can buy yourself back in. we were thing 10 or 15$ to enter and then 5$ to buy yourself back in.

Let me get some input on what you guys think. It will be a 150 foot strip with 200 foot shutdown. If we get enough people to do this we can start next weekend if it isnt to cold.

Ok guys, im getting out of the whole r/c thing.. again. :/ lol i dont use it anymore, and would rather see someone else actually using it. so:

I have a slash, rick husseman edition, all that.
it is stock everything, except the shocks, i have the big bore shocks, great for bashing. also, i still have the stock shocks and all that.

also, i have a duratrax evader st. it, is not quite stock. it has the mamba sidewinder 5700kv, and the b2 diff gear mod, along with a new idler gear. also, i have lots of extra parts, from a-arms to a chassis, and shock towers, and other stuff. lol with this truck, i also have a set of like new proline hole-shots, a brand new set of proline urbans, and new front tires as well, all glued.

i also have a gear box with miscellaneous stuff, like alan keys and all that. i cannot include any batteries as my dad still has his stuff, but i can include one traxxas transmitter.

this summer i spent a bunch of money on all this, over 700 just quickly figuring, i want to get back 300. please call me if interested at 901-428-5639

I just read on www.NHRA.com that Dover Motorsprts is closing Memphis Motorsports Park...:flaming::cry:

Don't take this the wrong way but I have to say something about the above comments. And not in a bad way. I understand why they are said. Hell given the circumstances I would probably have made similar posts. I also want to preface this and say that I really don't think that the forums are a good place to be posting what I want to say and I had planned to bring it up at a club meeting. But Since everyone would like to maybe have a chance at having a permanent track before next spring I am going to bring it up now.

So here goes.

I feel like there should be more "club" involvement in selecting a location and building a track. Making one person feel like it is all on them to build a track is not how it should be. It shouldn't be one persons money or one persons sweat that is used to get a track built. That goes the same for the club members. They should not feel like it is the elected officers job to make it happen. It should be an activity for the entire club working together to make it happen.

Here is what I think we should do. The club as a whole needs to decide what they wish they had in a track, what they will settle for and what the budget is. Then vote on it. Then nominate 2-3 people to investigate possible locations using the requirements the club voted on as a guide. Club members could suggest locations and the nominated people could investigate those possibilities.

Then later after all of the possibilities have been investigated report back to the club with the findings. They would tell what the land owner requirements are end etc.

Then the club could decide if one of the locations is worth pursuing.

It may very well be that all locations are too expensive or that there just isn't a suitable location. It would have to be an ongoing project. It might take a few years or it could happen quick. It just depends on what they find. And of course for now we can continue racing at the locations we are now. But at least we are working towards a greater goal.

I think that somewhere around here there is a place we can have an on road and off road track that would fit the needs of the club.

Again I am not attacking anyone. I just want everyone to realize that unless we all work together or someone hits the lottery it's not gonna happen.
