Hi all,

since we've already had round 1 of this years WCICS series, and since a common thought at round one was to try to get rules in place as early as possible going forward, I thought we should start the discussion now.

This thread is just that though, a discussion.
ask questions, put in you 2c worth, etc etc.

I know not all the racers can make it to Calgary to be part of a meeting about what to do the following year, so if we can get a feel here for which way to go forward then each clubs rep can get the opinion from their respective club and the reps can all come up with what the majority want to do going forward.

Hey guys,

The Edmonton leg of the WCICS series was a great event as always.
However I would like to bring up a issue which I feel could be improved.
During the weekend I weighed my car multiple times both on my own scale as well as on the "Offical Scale" located at the tech inspection scale. At no time during the weekend was my car under wieght, and it shouldn't be as I am one of the few individuals who still runs round cells in my TC stock car.

However during the main I was involved in a small collision at which time two 7 gram weights came unattached from my chassis. This was enough to take away my B main win, and hand it to a much deserving Kevin Phillips.

Now I only drive R/C for fun and I was not angry for being disqualified from the event, because I know I drove well enough to win, however due to the rules I did not receive a plaque nor will I recieve any points towards the over all standings.

After I was disqualified it was brought to my attention that five other drivers in stock shared the same fate as I had.

This got me to thinking, earlier this summer I attended the Reedy Race of Champions. At this event tech inspection proceeded the race instead of following it. I believe this is a much better system for many reasons.

All the participating drivers must be present prior to the start of their main with their cars at tech. The cars are then inspected for the proper wieght, before they even touch the track. If the drivers are not present at tech they do not race. This accomplishes two things.

1) It makes sure all the cars racing are wieghing the proper amount and if there not it gives the drives a chance to fix the problem prior to racing.

2) It also eliminates race delays, Racers waiting on one or more people who are not ready for the main (mercy minutes).

Now like anything there are issues with this system and one of them is drivers who are running multiple classes and are unable to make it to tech prior to the race do to marshalling obligations. This can easily be solved by allowing them to have a substitute marshal.

This is simply an idea that I thought was worth bringing up it will further our series in becoming a even more professionally run event.

In a surprise move, Pro-Line have announced they have completed the signing of Canadian wonderkid Ty Tessmann. His strong finish at the Nitrocross in AZ three weeks ago (2nd in Truggy) surely convinced Mr S.Hughes and the gang in Beaumont that Tessmann was the right guy to get! Ty leaves behind a string of great results with former tyre sponsor AKA; the highlight of course 7th at the last Worlds. Read the Press release below the image! | www.prolineracing.com
http://www.neobuggy.net/images/News/typl.jpg

Six years ago Canadian Ty Tessmann and his family came down to America to compete at the 2003 Nitro Challenge. Ty qualified into the F main and missed the bump. As he returned home, the locals were surprised at a not so stellar performance as he was competing with the best in Canada on a regular basis. “It’s totally different in the States. Everyone was fast. We have some work to do,” said Gord Tessmann, Ty’s dad.
Ty managed to beat half of the field and was only 10 years old at the time, pretty impressive. Fast forward to present time; Ty claimed the 7th position at the 2008 IFMAR 1:8 Off-Road World Championships, is hot off a 2nd place performance at the 2009 Nitrocross World Championships and continues to be a threat in the A-main at the most prestigious races around the country. The dedication the entire Tessmann family has put into Ty’s racing career is staggering and speaks volumes for their dedication to the sport of RC.

Dedication to product performance and racer support is what Pro-Line is all about and we’re proud to announce Ty’s joining the Pro-Line team. Here’s to you Ty and all your hard work. The entire Pro-Line team looks forward to working with you at many races to come.

Starting an RC Club here in Revelstoke, B.C. and looking for Racers :tire::tire:

This is my winter project to get some Racing going in Revelstoke and I would be very grateful for any information to help me get started. Right now I am designing flyers to post around town, looking into area's to build an outdoor Off Road track, and researching for my proposal to the municipality. This is going to be an Electric Club, no offense Nitro guys/girls but I believe it will be a lot easier to get approval from the muni, and get beginners into racing if it's just electric for now at least. Big emphasis is going to be put on Short Course Trucks to entice people into the hobby without breaking the bank. With Christmas coming up it is a great time to do some demo's at hockey games etc. There are so many great areas to build a track here I don't think it will be too hard to get approval:sweat: but I need to find a bunch of people that are interested. Thankfully I have a lot of time to canvass around town. Track building I know well enough, built one solo back in the day, but proposing a Track to the municipality that's going to be a challenge. Thanks a million for any information you can give me.
Cheers
