Greetings to all fellow offroaders,

We are a band of offroad R/C fanatics that have chanced upon a abandon track under a flyover near to Defu industrial area last weekend. Though the track is small, it is wonderful as it is sheltered from all the elements - wind, sun, rain. We have done up some of the layout to make it more 'practical' for 1/8 as the previous owner has built it more of for 1/10. This cosy little place is where you would feel blessed in this period of time when it would be wet most of the days. The nicest find is tables and chairs are also available there, whereby you can sit down and relax or carry out any repair work to be done.

Well, we would gladly point out the direction if anybody else is interested to join us in this new-found haven. Just give us a shout ! ;)

CHEERS !! - Long live offroad racing !!

Vietnam tourism industry is slowly but surely picking up over the years. Known for it's scenic natural views, it's one place nature lovers must not miss. As a matter of fact, I am doing a bit of research on Vietnam tours as I intend to travel Vietnam, either by tour or backpacking sometime next year (well, I need to save enough money for the trip!).

I'm trying to find a package that allows me to tours Vietnam and Cambodia, and perhaps Laos as well. There are many tour options and there are also cruises as well for those who wish to visit the famous Halong Bay. I think it's good to know a little about the country you plan to visit. Beside tourist spots, I think it is good to know a little about the people and the culture just so you know what to expect. If you're looking for travel information like language and literature; climate and weather; currency etc.

I'm trying my luck to find Hotels in vietnam but it's not on the list..Asiahotelbiz.com have many chances with over 10.000 hotels in Vietnam and Asia countries. Anyway, it's still a very resourceful web site since the hotels and resorts it features comes with star ratings, price rates and a brief review.

Hi guys,

Sorry if this question has been asked before but I havent got much time as I am at a net cafe.

I will be heading into Singapore tomorrow night for a few days of shopping and eating after 3 weeks of business in India. I will be staying at a hotel near Tiong Bahru MRT Station and was wondering if you guys could help point me in the right direction of some good hobby shops in the area? I m after Tamiya mostly but am hoping to buy an entire car including ESC and servo.

Also, please let me know if there are any local race tracks in the area as I would be very keen to come and check out a night of racing.

Oh and one more... Does anyone know where to buy DJ equipment?

Thanks everyone!

Hi all.....

I was in HK 2-3 weeks ago, and happened to pass by a hobby store on my last day. I used to build scale models many years ago and I know hobby kits are cheap there. I walked in not expecting to buy anything, then I chanced upon some RC kits.....

I think it was an impulse buy, and along with some help from the shop owner on how to get started... bought a Lancia TT-01 kit and a Futaba 2PHKA controller. I think my wife was shocked by the size of the kit, and I lugged everything back to SGP.

Everything is running now, so I'm just wondering, where are the places in Singapore (besides my home's parking lot) that I can run my car. Preferably a place friendly to newbies?

Off Road Nitro / EP, Buggy / Truggy, Workshop And Practise Race.
Hoping to make it a monthly event or at least 2 months once event.

format will be the about the same as per our monthly club race. As usual we will have our transponder system. Of course we will have our one and only Eddie, and also the track owner, Ah Leng and also tentage will be erected. Marshalling duty is compulsory.

This event will be held 1-2 week before or after the monthly club race. There will be 2 sessions for this event, morning and afternoon. 2 heats and mains for each session, meaning everyone gets to run 4 heats and 2 finals. We need min 20 participants to kick off this event. Duration of heats and mains to be finalised in the later stage. No trophy will be presented, timing of the practise results will be posted on line for your easy reference.

Event will be posted online for registration, once he/she registered himself/herself for the event, no withdrawal is allowed after the cut out date, unless valid reason is provided. The estimated cost for the full day run will be $1,200.00, this cost will be shared among all the drivers. The organiser reserves the right to close the registration and reject any further entry once the min head counts are met. Practise fee will be collected days prior the event. List of participants who have paid the track fee will be reflected on line, so as to show transparency and encourage early payment. No refunding will be exercised, regardless of eleventh hour withdrawal or any unforeseen weather.

Please follow this thread for further update.

Thank you for reading
Regard
