Hey there all. I picked up an OFNA Ravager this weekend for a song. It is used and needs a little love but it should be workable. The engine is the Force 28 which I have seen mixed reviews on this forum about. This is my first nitro car although i have been dabbling with electrics for a while now. I bought this to get my feet wet with nitro. (the price was right, i could not resist) My intentions are to race it as a late model conversion on an LTO dirt oval. I will also fun run on 1/8th scale off road track when time allows. There are futaba s3004 servos in it, and i know they are weak and cheap and i will replace them when i torch them.

My question(s) is. Does anyone out there own one and what should I look for as far as potential issues or pitfalls with this buggy? Weakpoints in the buggy itself, quirks and other points of concern are really what I am looking for. I am only racing this at the club level on an oval so I need not upgrade too much into ghigher end stuff. Like I said, if this nitro thing sticks, i will upgrade the car later when I am comfortable with the whole thing.

thanks in advance for the insight all!

Ben

Hi guys,

During winter we run on carpet indoor track. It is basically the same carpet that onroad 1/10 and 1/12 runs. Because of nitro cars the grip isn't very good - probably because of the oil from the fuel. And the temperature is below freezing also ;) Track is flat with some jumps - but its fun!

I woner if soneone has good advice on the tire. We know, that there's one magical tire that works on the carpet well but its impossible to get it these days. Typical tires don't work. Maybe the softest mixtures with very hard inserts would be good.

I'm planning to get some hard inserts and test Proline M3 Bows etc.

Hope to hear some advices! And it is capet, not astroturf.
