I was able to test the 2.4 last Saturday, all I can say is awesome!!!

I like it much better than the spektrum! Had nothing but problems with the spektrum.

The Futaba system is infact licensed from Nomadio. The original Futaba that had no external antenna was an all Futaba product but it seems they just couldn't get it to work well enough. The original Futaba was also Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum just like the Spektrum system, the new system is Frequency Hoping.

The native Nomadio system operates at a 100Hz refresh rate, the regular Spektrum operates at 50Hz, the Futaba sytem operates at 75Hz(Futaba HRS rate) The native FM HRS is still going to be a hair faster then the 2.4Ghz module because it doesn't have the analog to digital and digital to analog conversions.

That all said I don't think it can be any faster then the Spektrum HRS specific product, but real testing that showed response times in microseconds would be nice.

haven't purchase from GS Hobbies yet...but tempted for future equipment. Omni still cheaper than Tower even though both have it at $199.99 and $20off discount code. Omni has free shipping..
I believe Tower and Omni are like sister stores.. both own by the same company.

With the Futaba customer service.....I am 150% go for Futaba. I have owner of Futaba since 85..everything is Futaba (radio vise) and none of them disappointed me, even on the last 9550 that failed on me within 6 months, they shipped a brand new one within 2 days without question asked.

Solara,

Thanks for the kind words and support. You are a very loyal Futaba user.

FYI,

The Futaba 2.4 system is NOT licensed from Nomadio. It is entirely Futaba, designed, developed, and tested both in Japan and U.S. I was fortunate enough to be included in the testing cycle here in the states. You won't be sorry if you pick it up. HRS with the 2.4 is just as fast as the crystal system. I know, I ran it in touring mod foam on carpet.

Not flaming, just want everything to be clear.

Socko

Socko...NP, I was lucky that I made a right decision, not to mention Futuba is only couple hours away from Chicago...can't beat that.

When you guys talking about HRS is 2 times FASTER (transmit rate) and this 2.4 is 3 times faster then HRS........what exactly that I can tell how FAST that is...? Does that make my slow arsa cars 6 times FASTER...? I just don't understand who can I tell the radio is that much faster then any other radio..?

The Futaba 2.4GHz in HRS mode is AS fast as normal Futaba HRS. Our drivers have noticed no difference in speed between them...

That's good to here that they 2.4GHz in HRS is just as fast as normal HRS.

Now I think Futaba has to release a new redesigned module cover to accomidate the 2.4GHz module... the 3PKS doesn't look clean without the cover.
