Allows the front diff to pull through the corner. 1-way will pull under acceleration and unload under braking. You have a 4wd under acceleration and 2wd under braking. If you brake hard the car will come around.

Looks like i gotta have that.Im guessing that its used in racing bcos the reverse esc's are banned right so the diif can be used to make a 180 turn.Is it?

1-ways are for going faster through the corners. Let me go deeper into the subject. One-way bearings engage and disengage the drive to the front wheels automatically depending on the available traction. But there is no braking action. The 1-way bearings will disengage the wheels. 1-ways are not for doing 180 or reversing. Make sense?

The advantage of a one-way, is that when the car are off-throttle, all the traction are avaible for steering. The result are faster corner speed.

The disadvantage is that the car only brake with the rear wheels. So a one-way are normally only suited for high-bite tracks.

Usually it takes pretty much time to learn to drive with a one-way because of the brake issue. But once learned, it's probably the hop-op with most laps / $. Gaining an extra lap or 2 in a 5 minutes race aint unsual.

Thanks Cole. Works great for someone like me that does not use brakes. Put this on my christmas list for this year. I used 1-ways on my 1/8 and MTX-2. Went back to diff on MTX as had to use the brake to much and the tail swaped around a lot when I did. On my X-Ray I never brake, stock class.

Since your other post is about RTR kits, you definitely DON'T want a one way diff - they make the car much more responsive to drive, and impossible to brake with, they're only for good drivers on grippy tracks with rubber tyres really.

And no, spin turns are not what a one-way diff is for.
