I think what Ernie is trying to get at everyone is that we should put as much support as we can into new leadership at ROAR and "MOVE FORWARD". We can't change the bad decisions that were made in the past but move forward to the future which should be every ones goal. I can remember racing back in Michigan, Ohio, etc in the early 90,s where almost everytrack was ROAR affiliate. Remember there are benefits with being a roar member and Clubs were a big part of the picture to which promoted racing and it was fun to know you were part of a club everytime you raced.

The first step to support ROAR is to convert Cleveland, Novak, IIC and Snow Bird into ROAR events. If not, the biggest races are still non-ROAR.

Why convert great races like these? What would be the reasoning of taking great races like these that others have worked so hard on making them some of the best and then handing it over to ROAR so it can say that ROAR has the biggest races!!!!!!!!!! How about ROAR setting up their own big race and grow it into a huge deal like these other races have done.

This will show what ROAR can do when everything is run correctly. That will give ROAR a better image by proving they can do it and make races as great as some of the NON-ROAR races.

You guys are looking at it the wrong way. Roar Nationals are limitied to 250 entries (at least in on-road) and they pretty much sell out or close to it every year.

I dont think the size of the race matters (to an extent) as long as the quality of the race and the racing is good.

I have known Mike Queller for many years. Based on my recent conversations with him, I can tell he is very serious and aggressive about getting ROAR headed in the right direction. (In fact he just called today to beat me over the head for not signing up as an affiliate yet.) I certainly don't claim that he has all the answers (nor does he), but he should be applauded for his effort. There is no doubt that issues will arise that are devisive. I hope everyone involved will keep the hobby's best interests in mind when trying to find a solution.
I am not a flag waver for ROAR, nor am I a staunch opponent...I'm just someone who would like to see our industry grow through cooperation and common sense decision making.

Thumbs up

I've got to second what Ernie wrote in his original post. This has been my experience of late as well. Tim Potter and Bob Ingersoll are really listening to suggestions and thinking about why the suggestions are being made. I see good changes ahead if the entire ROAR committee responds to the legitimate needs of the racers and manufacturers. It seems like they are starting to see the "big picture" for making the sport healthy and stable.

Hey, somebody check Ernie's medications! I think they're slipping him something?

An RC company as big and influential as Trinity should have always supported ROAR despite any personal feelings. That's in the past. Welcome home, Ernie!

Now if you make up with John Brown we can all sing "Cum By Ya."

Glad to see some enthusiasm... Glad to see Ernie become an affiliate and look forward to working with him on issues through the electric off-road committee as with his knowledge we can be guided for the better of the hobby as a whole. Welcome back Ernie.
