how can we ignore the fact that motors played a role in these numbers?, and the hotel(lol)...

and if your handout is a gem, by all means, please talk with Scotty, Mike and ROAR about giving it to the class, of whichever needs the help
That would be why we did not mess with those classes We've had a lot of people request Handout over the last 3 years. At least if you had fun last year at Champs, you can run the exact same classes and do it again, we removed a couple classes with less than 10 people running and are offing a chance to try a handout in 21.5 TC ONLY

Personally, I'd rather pay the $40 for a tested motor and not have to spend an hour in line with a handful of parts hoping I get everything together in the correct order before I leave tech. This is no way a knock against events that have motor teardown or the people doing that thankless job. Just a preference on my part.
you still have to tech for the handouts...and a teardown will happen either before, or when somebody cries foul....

and yes $40 isnt alot, but when you already spent all the things you mention, isnt that just one more thing....look at it this way, you already spent $100 on your new motor, nice new shiny motor...but you want me to run this handout for the weekend, and give you money for it, and then go race my new shiny at the club level?....

so I still spent the $140 dollars !!!!

I dont see any numbers being up. show me races last year that had more entries than any races did in 07' the last year of handout brushed motors. USIC being the exception maybe, but that race was a shit show during that time. Mr. Bill was driving it right into the ground.

now thats the other point...the NEW class in 21.5 TC, should have a spec motor acroos the Nation. Its new and no real rules for it.

This way the people who think this is a gateway class to 17.5 TC can run without the motor war...Correct?

I agree, but most of it is in our heads....if you win on Sunday it sells on Monday, or even Sunday afternoon...if top guys run XYZ motor, we believe we have to have that motor to be fast...thats been here since I got in the game

To me handout has always worked. Everyone the same motor not taking home to modify it to make it faster. In the past with brushed some quick things could be done but from what I have seen with the current ETS motor with a locked endbell it can not be better. And yes, all motors are hand shimmed for the right performance.

But as with many topics about this subject try to make stock real stock peopel are whining. Whining about loosing their own advantage and not thinking about the whole thing to make it attractive and affordable for everyone.

- The why is clear, too much costs and performance differences
- Brand fanboys should be aware stock racing can never be stock racing with many different motors
- Whining sponsored drivers should drive open classes or else just drive with what the rules say
- Manufacturers are aware of this because like in Europe it is quite normal and should support the idea as long the ROAR will give them a chance to provide the motors

talk about wasting money:
If I have a motor I use at club races and then I have to buy a handout motor at big races I just spent more than if I had an $$ motor.
Amen Man!

Thats your choice.

There is nothing stopping you from running that 40$ hand out at club races other than pride...and it might not be ROAR approved.
