Default Team Associated Apex

Anyone have an Apex? I didn't see a thread for them. I recently put together the kit. I added a Goolrc brushless combo and a Supra shell. I'm very impressed with everything so far!

If there was just a way to get the gearing right. Especially since Associated has been offering it as a roller. It's a excellent way to try on road, and hard value to beat at under $300.

Until I started racing I didn't understand the whole internal gearing thing. We had one try to run last year. Inexperienced driver plus fast car didn't go well.

It had what I was looking for, shaft driven with gear differentials. I got it from Omnimodels on Ebay for $114 shipped and it was fun to put the kit together. I still haven't had time to take it out and see how it drives in a large area. I'm hoping it goes straight and handles reasonably well. I don't race so its non-competitive design doesn't bother me. The crowd on this forum is a little more serious about racing than they are on UltimateRC.com, aren't they?

Are the Apex and TC4 related and/or do they share parts? The TC4 is only $150 for a roller.

The TC4 has ball differentials, I know that much. They probably have different gearing too because the TC4 is considered suitable for racing while the Apex is not.

The Apex is a great car. The car lacks adjustment for steering but that is an easy fix by replacing the linkages with adjustable ones. Personally I live by the motto "if you have two of something you can race them!! Enjoy the car...it looks great.

Unrelated, they don't share any parts.

The Apex is a rebranding of the Thunder Tiger Sparrowhawk. It shares some driveline parts with the Thunder Tiger 4wd buggy
