which tire truer ?
I need to get a decent tire truer for the money.
Which tire truer do you recommend and how much am I looking at? I am kind of new to foam tires so I need all the help and suggestions I can get. I was looking into the Integy one. Is that one ok to use? Thanks guys. |
I have the Integy Automatic truer and it works fine. be sure to have a good quality power supply and also a hudy bit. you will have to file it a little to make it fit and do the math to line it up properly, but it sure does a better job on the foams.

Buy this one... it looks like a pretty good deal... and I know this guy is legit.

I'm currently using the standard 12v Integy truer and it works great! The motor is plenty powerful and barely slows down even when I do a full cut on one pass, it comes with extra blades, and it's an ultra simple compact design. Can't ask for much more then that!

kpex- I recommend asking a few guys at your local track first- that is, if some of the other racers have already tried/own/use tire truers....and if so, see if you can try a few different truers for yourself. That's what I did. I tried Maxmod, Corally, Hudy, OFNA, etc before choosing one myself. A good quality tire truer isn't cheap, you need a strong power source to run it and a good cutting bit is a must!

Can't go wrong if you get a Hudy
|
thanks for all the help/suggestions guys.
I am bidding on a hudy universal unit. If I lose the bid I might just go with a Integy unit. Thanks again guys. |
Newb question: What does a Tyre Truer Do? :weird:
|
Whatever tire truer you get you should invest in a carbide bit(if it doesn't already have one) Hudy makes the carbide bit and I have installed it in the Integy truer that I have and it works like a charm - NO MORE BLADES! - the carbide bit last forever and cuts much smoother!!!!!!!!!
