Welcome to the XRAY X12'18 Thread & Wikipost! Here you will find some useful info, tips and tricks as well as setups that are used by several team drivers. Many of us run the X12'18 on high bite carpet and with most US tracks going to the new black CRC carpet, most setups from here out will be developed for those high bite conditions.

Tips & Tricks:
The latest front-end builds up super nice, especially the US version. Since there are fewer molded parts, we are noticing the US front-end to be more symmetrical and consistent.

As with any 1/12 pan car, a smooth operating suspension is critical to performance. It is recommended to polish your kingpins & hinge pins using a dremel or a drill and some sort of polish (IE Gravity polish or Mothers Aluminum polish will work). If you find that your suspension has a bind, you may look at using a reamer or drillbit to make sure the holes are clear of any flashing or debris. Some reamer sizes to consider having are 3mm and 2mm for the kingpin and the upper hinge pin. Be careful not to remove too much material if you decide to ream your plastics.

When building your pod, it is advised to use any wrench w/ 3mm shafts to help build the pod perfectly square. See photo:

same as before and you save the money for the carbon fiber axels.

The updates, especially for the US edition are really great and cover all the bases for CRC black carpet.
You guys are running the same setup as on the '17?

Thanks
Denis

Hi, 1/12 is practically dead in Poland last seasons in Nationals and SW area. I follow X12 and X10 as a prediction for new X1. In F1 setup differs mainly in alu chassis for BC, an oils springs, adjustments but not axles nor front suspension (except brace). Personally for now I use carbon chassis full year. We will se what will come with X1 2018, but X10 have only one common setup.

Anyone else building or maybe EA know why such large/wide shims are called for on the rear of the lower arm off the mount? The front shims seem right on (3mm)...why the three 5.3mm for the other? Thanks!!

No...this is coming outward from the block to the arm. The front screw has normal 3mm shims...the aft screw has oversized shims. My guess it puts in a place for tweak to happen in a crash.

The 5.3 is the Diameter. Its still .5 thick so its the same thickness. Its larger because the hole in the caster block is there and it would just go inside the caster block.

Make sense?
