I did the same /carbon shaft/ on my TB04 using the same method as you did. Carbon snapped after few hard braking. Test before any racing I end up using shaft from TB06 evo ms

I had a few carbon shafts made for my A700 with 3mm OD, and I think the ID diameter was 1mm or something, but there always seem to be a 2mm difference between OD and ID. Tom's carbon tube seems to have 1mm difference between OD and ID, so that might be a factor to consider if anything goes wrong. You can always use a thicker(6mm) carbon shaft if durability becomes an issue, but the tb07 shafts are so short that it will be next to impossible to break them: the short front shaft will be under lots of pressure with a front spool in a crash, but the long rear shaft will never be under serious pressure under braking or in a crash because the rear diff will always unload first... The two shaft design(short front/long rear) will always be stronger than the traditional single(tc3) shaft design, and will hold better in mod racing, but the catch is that it will be a little bit heavier with the extra layshaft and two input cups... I don't see how Tom's shafts can possibly break anytime soon, not even in mod racing, but then again you never know with carbon fiber....

Shaft is under longwise forces which tries to twist it. So main has broken alongside not
transversely.

I know I asked a few weeks ago and the answer was that people buy these to put on a shelf, but has anybody raced it yet?

I can't believe people would spend over £500 to not race it?!

Not raced yet. Job and family gets me busy at the moment, sorry.

Things are going slowly. Buliding a shell for it, but its not finished.

Can't believe that I'm the only one with a TB EVO 7.

Would love to have one but it will have to wait till after the first of the year as we just bought an entire kitchen of appliances (and knew that was coming so held off on the 7).

'Course, we don't have a local track anymore so I would only get to run it a handful of times a year anyway.

Not that hard to believe - $650+ car and absolutely no feedback or info on actual track performance, in a market flooded with similarly priced (or cheaper) touring cars with more proven performance.

I was looking forward to this car but its come out just a bit too high in the price range and, so far, it looks like not many are going to seriously race it. Not everyone has the means or desire to buy every car that comes on the market just so they can say they own it.

I don't really understand the whole price issue. The car is going for $470 on RC mart and with 3-4 day shipping comes out to about 550. That is roughly 50 dollars cheaper than the X-ray T4 2018.

You don't have to understand it... I think this car is too expensive for what it offers and for what it requires to get it race ready... you are quite entitled to think otherwise
