These things have blown up here in Vegas. One of the biggest classes, cheap, easy and seem fun as hell.

since they are the same chassis we ran at Jackson for the enduros, i'd say run the rear higher than the front - rear shocks all the way out, and the front shocks all the way in - this will/should give you some more steering (at least I know I like the enduro cars better this way)

there isn't too much else allowed to them, per TCS rules, and that's one easy (and legal) trick

another cheap (and should be legal), use anti-wear grease on the diffs to slow them down. i'd run it in both, depending on how you like the feel of the open diff in the front

Why didn't Tamiya release them on the TT-02 though?

Price, I suppose. And to make them easily identified. By keeping them on the older chassis, they're also discouraging upgrades.

Hobbytown in Cedar Rapids, Ia just started a class of these when they race in the parking lot. They have sold about 10 of these so far and are run them box stock. The fast guys, running the stock brushed motor and nimh battery, are faster than the vta cars.

That's fun to hear, and good to know. Aren't beer can motors something like 90w, and 25.5's 70w?
