Just a thought
So, now what are you going to do with it?

$50 is fair for motor but it adds to the entry cost and then at the end of the event it isn't of much use.

They have tried implimenting a controlled stock motor over here for 17.5 Buggy, (Stock buggy) the motor chosen being a fixed endbell Much More which has come in at $120 AUD. Now I haven't been in off road circles for a couple of years for other reasons, but I do know that in Western Australia you typically got 8-10 drivers in the State titles for that class, sometimes up to 15, and that's been fairly consistant over the past few yrs. This year they had 2 entrants and the class has had to be canned for this yr's states.

It's not a stretch to see that the imposition of a controlled 'handout' motor and the associated costs have effectively killed the class.

Not keen for that to happen in 21.5.

Why do I need 0 timing, no boost, and any 2S battery? I already have a class legal / ROAR approved motor, no boost, and any 2S battery too but somehow that isn't deemed fair because of a $5 increase in motor cost. I would dare say you're the one overthinking this. You're suggesting national rule changes over $5?

Again, can someone point me the direction of logic.......cause I'm just not seeing it the argument.

It's simple, place your order with TSR for the $95 version, wait until you get it, then sell the one, two or more motors that you already have in your pit box for that very same class. You can simply sell them right on this site too. Now, your motor has cost you little to nothing additional out of pocket and if you've got a couple, you may actually make money in the process. At this point, you've spent $0 and now own a motor that gives you ABSOLUTELY no excuses. Or maybe, just maybe, that's the problem......
Your $95 motor was beating my $100 motor in A3 until that .5 cent screw came out lol
And yes I'm still bitter that you nudge me from the podium by 1 point lol

I don't own one. The rumors are there might be a change locally to use these in the near future.

Umm... Only 2WD stock has been canned, whilst 4WD Stock actually has more than enough entrants to run, and they both use the same control motor.

Additionally... South Australia hasn't had an Offroad states for a few years, yet this year, with the control motor, it did. 2WD stock had 24 entries, 4WD stock had 16. (Entries are on in the first post here)

So by that extension, maybe more to do with the local scene, than purely a control motor issue...
