Visited Champ R/C
I'm on a business trip in Tokyo and stopped by Champ R/C in Akihabara. I'm amazed by several things.
First, the selection of parts is remarkable. I have an HPI Pro4 and the store has every HPI part and most aftermarket parts. It also has parts for Yokomo, Tamiya, Associated, Hot Bodies and a few others. Second, the prices on the HPI stuff are at least 20% lower than in the US. Third, HPI sells lots of really nice hop up parts in Japan that are not available in the US. For example, I got a carbon fiber drive shaft and upper bumper brace as well as alu spring supports and damper end balls. In addition, I got a set of IB 4200s (not matched) for the equivalent of $40. It was fun visiting the store and I may go back again to see if there is anything else I "need." Ira |
japan is like Mecca. every true RC follower has to go at least once to show their true devotion :sneaky: ;) also, the Japanese like their bling, and aren't afraid to show it. also, of course they have everything, it's like one of the biggest shops in Nippon isn't it?

Its great aint it. I visited Champ RC and all the other rc shops around that area of Japan the other year. They have everything you could want and more.

When I was in Hong Kong, I was amazed to find a whole street devoted to RC, Airsoft, and Motor Cycle parts. I could have spent all day wandering through shops. It was great. :D
