Some of the UK guys have been buying Shimizu premounts, cutting out the center of the wheel and inserting a GT12 rim.

Hi
Thanks for the reply. When you say "Shimizu premounts" which ones do they use?
Cheers

There us a huge following in the UK for the GT series where they race Schumacher SupaStox, Mardave and Zen and Tic Racing. I asked the question on oople.com and got the following reply.

What you need is a set of Supastox wheels with the foam removed. ( I soaked them in acetone to remove the foam )

Sweep mini 5 spoke wheels type A. Dremel / remove the spokes so that your just left with the rim. You fit the rim over the Supastox wheels then glue up the tyres.

Best tyres are :

Shimizu Treaded Tyres (pr) for Tamiya Mini - Hard - for the front
Shimizu Treaded Tyres (pr) for Tamiya Mini - Soft - for the rear

As long as the outer diameter of the old wheel fits the Inner diameter of the Sweep wheel with the center cut out, it would work.

From the GT12 UK Facebook page:

Quote:
Wheels are hybrids made from a set of old JFT wheels and Sweep Mini 5 spoke wheels.
Tyres are Shimizu Mini tyres - medium front and soft rear
Sweep Mini Wheels

Medium compoud

Soft Compound
