Cool Speed 12B body appendages

Ray: very observant. tomdav's answer was pretty much right. If I was to use aerodynamicist jargon I'd probably put it this way: these small vortex generators keep the laminar flow closer to the boundry layer by reducing flow detachment in the areas that the condition is most likely. But, I'm not an aerodynamicist, so I'd just say that "a little turbulance goes a long way at times". lol

Default Speed 12B availability

Crashby:
As a policy we release new products on the 15th of the month, meaning that we post photos w/description on our web site and send the same information to our distributors both domestic and overseas via e-mail. We hope that the distributors will place orders asap but we can't really force them to. If the domestic distributors placed orders on monday or tuesday of this week, generally it takes at least a week or so to get the shipment landed in Illinois (for example). Delivery to distributors in western states would naturally shave a couple of days off shipping time. If your local hobby shop places an order for the new part number with his distributor, generally it will jump-start the whole process if it hasn't already started.
Thanks for the interest.

Regular Weight Bodies

acyrier:
It's been our experience in the past that .030 lexan (reg. weight) 1/12th scale bodies just do not sell very well. Like our other past 1/12th on-road bodies this one's only available on "light weight" material.

I fully understand the distribution process. I do that for a living.

I ordered four of the new bodies from Tower yesterday. Even though they listed the product "on order" I am sure they will ship when ever they get some from you. I just hope I have them in time for the carpet nationals.

Thanks for the great bodies!! Keep up the good work!

Protoform Speed 12's are pretty tough for .020" bodies. All the curves, lips, splitters, etc...seem to form a structure that holds the body together really well.

Ahh that's too bad, I would have preferred to buy the .030" lexan (reg. weight) for club racing on a tight track. The extra durability is desired.

Great job as usual, Dale. I got some of these bad-boys on the way already.

Don't compare the Speed 12 to the Speed 8's in .020". The Speed 12 is way tougher.

Damn Dale. You're making me wish we had somewhere to race 1/12 even more now. Looks good.
