Default ETS carpet repair

Hello fellow racers.
have a question regarding repair of ETS carpets.
Our carpets have several rips and holes in them. We are on a VERY strict budget and are looking for a cheap and smart way to repair our carpets.
We are thinking about gluing some thin flexible material to the backside of the carpets to patch the holes. Tips and tricks would be very helpful!

Thank you

The best way is to use a few overlapping lines of sail repair tape on the underside as you role the carpet up.
Once the tape is underneath, you can use some superglue on top.
We then put a polythene bag (old parts bag etc) on top of where the superglue has been used and finish rolling the carpet up.
The bag stops the glue from trying to stick to the carpet it's rolled against (superglue, or crazy glue, depending on where you're from, won't stick to polythene)

Once All this is done you should only be left with a slightly darker 'V' in the shape of the tear where you used the glue on the surface.

Always use sail tape on the underside as it WILL NOT COME OFF.

There are a lot of carpet repair tapes available. All of them work on the bottom side. It might take a few tests of different ones to find the best. Look for a specific repair tape with rienforcement.

Considering ets carpet for our local club. Does it last a bit? How long before these issues arose?

Of course, the easy budget free solution is to run a chicane past the tear while you think of ways to fix the hole

At our RC club we have the carpet and we repair with scotch on carpet for repair quickly but when we have time, we roll the carpet roll and fix the holes one by one by sticking the tape on the back of roll

and when we have more time, we stick pieces of the old carpet on the bottom of the news at the holes

Depends how good your drivers are at ensuring there are no screws sticking out underneath their chassis.
Last club I was at it lasted around 4yrs,
As it's quite thin it has to rolled up carefully as well, otherwise you end up with ripples in it.
The plus side of that is that the carpet is quite light compared with everything else.

That’s longer than crc or others implied it would last. How exactly did you secure it to the floor?

Same stuff as linked?

Do you permanently attach it or temporarily?
Duct tape on top normally as the rolls we used were 4m wide.

I think he meant that CRC have said that ETS carpet won't last long.
Compare the price between CRC and ETS rug... no comparison

Something along this line should serve you well!
Capitol 3.62-in x 15-ft Tan/White Pressure Sensitive Seam Tape. It's very thin and made for seaming and repairing carpet. It's super strong(tacky) Copy and paste my suggestion and go from there.
