I don't see how you would have a problem with any type of saddle packs. If the negative tab is on the lower left and the positive is on the lower right then you should not have a problem. Remember the jumper wire for the saddle packs is a battery bar so everything will work.
IF you push the button and the lights go on and then off then all that batteries are below the cutoff voltage that you have the tray set at. I don't know any of the features of the Ice but the discharge cutoff should be set at 5.40 as a 6-cell pack or 3.60 as a 4-cell pack.
