Default How competitive is an Xray T3 (2012) now? and T2

I picked up an Xray T3 with a Reds motor and, Hobbywing 120A V2.1 ESC and Savox servo. Is this still a decent car for club level racing or would it be a looong way off a T4?

I also picked up a T2 (2009) but it has some rusted parts being most of the metal parts/ screws that are not anodised, with the exception of the suspension which looks fine). Is the T2 still competitive/ okay for club racing and is it worth replacing any parts on it (**if anyone has T2 spares they want to sell do PM me).

Thanks for any input

If you can install low shocktowers and SLP shocks, they will be competitive.....

I'm still running a T3 2012 in the USGT class and am as competitive as anything else out there.

Great club level car. Don't worry too much comparing to the latest models just enjoy the racing! When you feel ready upgrade to a newer chassis.

+1

When you feel that the car is really holding back, then upgrade.

Which parts have rusted, almost everything on the T2's (009) was anodised in orange.

Great thanks for the info all on the T3. The T2 has surface rusted drive shafts, many screws, sway bars, and the arms holding the suspension and steering/ servo arms. Works fine. Looks ugly. Would be nice to go it a go over with replacement parts if I can find them.

At the bottom of this page is the parts cross reference table:

https://www.teamxray.com/teamxray/pr...=5979&catName=

It will show you which parts can be used between the T3 and T2.

You could try polishing the rusted parts in the mean time.

I would try soaking the rusted parts in WD-40 overnight before buying replacements.
