I have a summer home an hour west of Denver (see avatar)and have to endure snarky comments every time I head out there. I'm not subject to randoms, although I wouldn't have anything to be worried about, even if I was. I don't partake in the devil's lettuce.

It's a funny place. If you've got a cold and want to buy some Sudafed, you're damn near treated like a criminal. But buying weed isn't much different than what you'd experience at a liquor store.

Your liquor stores and laws are weird as hell. Last Mile High I went to I stopped at a convenience store on the way back to my hotel after getting dinner, having driven 908 miles that day from Tucson to Denver in one shot, saw a nice cold can of beer, I think it was Shock Top, sitting in the fridge and thought that I would like to drink that back at my room and watch some TV before going to sleep. He wouldn't sell it to me. Why not? It was 12:08 AM. I was nine minutes late.

Entered WGT-R today; so, Mario and Jim can run circles around me.

Currently at home recovering from knee surgery; but, should be ready for some carpet by then. Might be a tad slow at marshalling...LOL

Any recommendations on the hotel's listed on the website?

I stayed a the Days Inn Golden, right off I-70 and Colfax Ave last year and it was really nice. Clean rooms and had recently been refurbished and a straight shot east on Colfax to the track. https://www.wyndhamhotels.com/days-i...r=0-2147483647

Thanks Speedy. I did like Golden when I came to practice in 2015.

Leading up to the Wednesday check-in, will there be any practice time available? Monday-Wednesday AM? I expect to be pretty rusty.

Nothing officially planned for those days, but I assume the track will be open most that time. There's usually someone there most days. Usually we shut the track down for practice after 5PM on Wednesday so we can put in the race layout.

5280 locals do most their talking in Slack chat now instead of on RCTech. Anybody can request access, and you'll get a lot better sense for when people are gonna be there. Here's the info on how to join: 5280 Raceway.

I have had a few people call and ask if JFT tires will be allowed in stock 1/12.

Short answer is no. The object of spec tire is to have everyone on the same foam. CRC/BSR purple strip are the same foam, and JFT, although the have a "stripe" it is a different foam and will not be allowed.

we will have some tires available for purchase at the race if need be.
