If using other body shells such as used on Serpent F110, or xray X1, then it should be possible to locate the battery in different orientation to get the CoG further back and still mount the body shell.

I prefer the weight being forward: less spinouts.......

That's true, but its all relative to which car design you are using and its handling characteristics. There are other ways to tweak the handling balance to create understeer, such as using a bigger rear wing, changing the spring rates, adding a front sway bar, or camber setting adjustment. Which chassis do you base this comment on?

I base it on the fgx with Mckune chassis ....

Have you tried to change to extra hard front springs with heavy weight oil, or otherwise just pack the front shock shafts with rubber O-rings? No matter how good the IRS rear suspension setup is, if the front of the car is too soft and allows the car to roll, its guaranteed to lack stable handling.

I don't have ifs on my fgx, and I am not done building the car yet... I will have to order a new lighter esc, supershorty battery to get close enough to 1050g before racing...
