I just noticed what they did with the motor mount screw holes - very cool.

I like the micro damper tubes on the front.

I've written a build guide as a Facebook photo album. Follow the link and just go through the pictures in order. It may give you a better idea about the car. https://www.facebook.com/trevcoult/m...2797951&type=3

Or, alternatively, Trevor might want to make that album public?

The album has always been public. Plenty of people not on my friends list have already been able to view it. You do have to be logged onto Facebook to view it though.

Default running experience?

Hello all,

Has someone driven the car yet who wants to tell us how it went?
I am also curious to know if it drives differently compared to any conventional 12th scale car.
Seriously tempted to replace my CRC with this car.
A running video would be nice!

Regards,

Hans

Default looks very good

Hello all,

Thanks for the post Skiddins.
That looks like a very good driver, the car looks planted apart from the wobble after the start, we have all been there :-)
But as Always, most good drivers can make any car look good.
It looks like an innovative car, oh so tempted for this one.

Regards,

Hans

I'm an average driver, certainly nowhere near as good as Aidan in the video. I've only driven the car at one race meeting so far but it felt like, and was as good as any other 12th scale car I've driven, and I've driven quite a few. I was close in time to drivers who I know are better than me and I hardly strayed from kit setup. I'll know better though after next weekend when I'm racing at round 3 of the UK 12th nationals.

When the first pictures of the car came out I was really in doubt to buy it. It looked heavy and big. But having it in your hands it's a great piece of engineering. These pictures are no way near the end product. It lookes so nice!

I've driven the On-Point car for almost 5 years and know how to work with that car. But I decided to order a Schumacher. Got mine in a couple of day's a go and had my first outing last weekend. Drove to a pretty large track with (normally) really high bite carpet. They renewed the carpet so it had more of a medium grip feel.

With the kit set-up the car felt good, but just a bit to easy and slow. I changed the center damping to 30K CST and switched out the Schumacher Black springs (softish) for Associated Green. Been using these Associated springs for several years and just like to know what I'm doing Also changed some small minor things and the car got better and better.

Does it feel like a regular 12th scale? Yes and no. Yes it really does, No, it does even feel better then a regular 12th scale! It carries a lot more speed in to the corner and keeps is corner speed a bit better then any other 12th scale I've driven. It's so much smoother and "easier" on corner entry. It's not twichy, sliding or lifting a wheel. It's so stable and therefore so fast. I didn't expect to feel this. I think the car has a lot potential!

What do I dislike on the car? I dislike they use metric front end parts. I liked to use the Xenon front end for it's plastics But the kingping now is 3mm, not 3,18mm. It's probably just getting used of. Also the motor screws are a great piece of engineering and rethinking parts. But, the motor slots are a bit narrow, so to get the desired rollout you need to carry a couple more spurgears.

Upcoming weekend I'll travel back to the Racing Arena Limburg to compare my A-Final Master of Foam times and feelings with the Schumacher Eclipse.

I've "purpled" it out just like my Schumi Mi6 (Don't mention the 30 min spraycan job).

Regards Robert

Mine is on order and should be here early next week. Just FYI Amain has these for $235 shipped after the $25 off coupon on orders over $200.
What springs besides Schumacher can I use front and rear? Any idea what variations I will need from the kit setup for a very small track using spec purple stripes on old gray carpet (medium grip) and 17.5?
