Actually Clint, after you get good at fogging the silver in, you can use a very light coat of silver to get your metallic look, then use opaque white or black to adjust the brightness/darkness of the color.
Another thing to remeber when using candy colors is that the depth or thickness of the candy coat will determine what shade the candy comes out. I love candy blue with about 4 fog coats. If you time it right, on the last coat you can giove it just a little more than a fog, but not enough to run and it will make all of the coats lay down quite smooth. Unfortunately, there's quite a bit of practice and timing involved...
