I do like the fact that they sort of fall between the Xray linear springs, but wouldn't mind if the SMJ came a little lighter than whats out there.

I have tried them on carpet, but I prefer the linear springs myself. I think its because I prefer the spring to compress all the way in a linear? feel. The progressive springs have a sort of locked? feel to them on the last part of the compression. I have had decent results with them though, but just seem to end up back with the linear. I think they may not be a bad spring to try in a situation where you are trying to keep the nose of the car off the track, but the harder spring will probably effect the steering as well. Something that would have to be tuned for.

Are you running it on black/grey carpet or asphalt? Car has lots of corner speed, I prefer small amounts of droop in 21.5/17.5 classes. I'd say the kit carbon chassis is good for almost everything. Unfortunately I never ran the aluminum chassis, but I imagine it would plant the car a bit, and you'd just tweak a few things to dial it in.

not yet, haven't needed to retire the D08 from my 21.5 class yet. Are you having any issues with it?

No problem, hope it helps.
The car is of good quality that matches the other brands, just a little cheaper cost on parts. You won't go wrong getting one.

Hello ya'll, I've done several videos on the D09. I've tried my best to document a ''complete build''. However the videos I've uploaded don't cover a complete build, but rather areas of the build that are necessary to point out.
I hope you enjoy the information and tips.

Looking for somebody to cut shock towers for my DO9 as they are to low for shock travel in VTA.

Could you use the D08 shock towers? VBC is running some experimental shock towers but they are only 0.5mm taller than the stock items.
Are you running out of adjustment on the shock collars themselves, as in the springs are too long?

I have run them on my D08, using both the 0.0 and the 0.5 uprights and just re-adjusted the arm toe for the built in difference, although the outer 0.5 seem to help the car to corner a little better. I know Dave prefers to run the 0.5 in mod. I also like them because I can set the droop of the flat on the bottom of the upright itself instead of the curved part of the stock piece.
With that said, I still run the D09 stock upright on the D09, mostly because the 2 hole upright is what RC3 settings are based on. I haven't checked but I think there is a difference between the 2 hole locations of the plastic versus the aluminum ones. I'd have to check for sure but I think the inner hole on the plastic is slightly inboard more than the aluminum. (I can confirm that the above hole location difference is correct.)
There should not be any other concerns about using either ones, other than unsprung weight differences, but its pretty small. The car works well with either item. The are quite a bit more durable than some other makes out there as well. I've had mine for a couple years and no twists in them yet.

Just had the best weekend with my D09 yet - its really similar to the previous one. More corner speed and rotation than the '17 xrays I was up against, just needed a bit cleaner driving. All I needed was a bit more dual rate for the extra hard corner rotation, and the rear end stayed planted with less rear droop!
as for jtsbell's ride height issues, how far down are your shock ball ends threaded down on the shaft? is there still visible thread? maybe send us a picture to see what you're working with.
