Spec foam tires may not be an answer at this level. There is quite a difference in hardness depending on where the foam is cut on a sheet and from sheet to sheet as well. I know this has been done many times before, but at this level there would be a lot of complaining if one set of tyres is 36 shore and another set is 38 shore. Maybe that amount of difference is acceptable.

Wouldn't that argument also apply to buying and bringing 30 sets of the same compound/shore of tires to a race?

Boosters have been around forever since they changed the rule in 12th scale to only use 1 cell 3.7v batteries. They do not put anyone at a disadvantage when used. They are used to boost the voltage from the racing battery from 3.7v to 7.2v which is what a servo and receiver are designed to use.
Just to add that ESC's built specifically for 1S have the booster built in (typically they boost the DC voltage to 6V) which is why you generally don't need a separate booster.

But such differences , or lets say lack of those differences is up to the agreement with manufacturer chosen. With minimum quality control i should be no problem to obtain almost no noticable differences ( when yo aply your tire additive few minuts earlier it also makes difference)
things like allowable differences in hardness and location of bond between foam layers is just a subject to agreement between organizer and manufacturer.
When manufacturer has a single order of hundreds of sets of same compound and hardness it should be even cheaper for them to manufacture.

From my experience difference in hardness is less important than type of compound ( ex. on some carpets use of rear white tires gives big advantage and going up to yellow makes little difference , but on some carpets this compound family is totally wrong choice due to big tire wear that causes lack of traction at the end of race)

What more in other foam classes that use handout tires at WC or EC they dont complain about any instabilities in quality of tires from set to set.

It was a fun track to drive too.

Wish more Americans made the trip over.

Watching the day two traction issues/lap time fall off... Boy I'm happy I didnt go!
What a cluster.
I wonder why traction is so inconsistent from run to run when drivers put fresh tires on each time...

Looks like a seriously windy day may have caused the traction issues.

If the soda they sprayed never has a chance to get heated and with wind blowing - it will glaze and lose bite. I am not familiar with the 'Traction Oil' that they are using but if it is for foam, like Tweak, it will be much better during a sunny day.

Bruno seems dialed in high bite and low bite.

The sun came in and the times dropped!

Surprise of this round - Viktor Wilck. Nice run.
Shock of this round - Tamiya moves down.

The would-be B sort is looking pretty fierce.

They mentioned that it was sugar water in the broadcast yesterday so I'm not sure if they are spraying sugar or pop. They did say that they prep the night before which isn't good IMO, too much dust and I don't think it will set up very well at night with cooler, damper air.

Should be interesting qualifying with some of the heavy hitters in the B-sort for sure.
