And that's a perfect illustration that there ain't no free lunch. The total energy in a 2s 4000mAh battery is the same as in a 1s 8000mAh.

Wouldn't that be even less traction than running on ice?

Or we could further reduce costs and restrict speeds by simply running on bare plastic rims. That's preferable to having to rent out an ice rink, or buy new tires.

Now where is that prescription bottle hiding?

As someone who runs alot of F1 and World GT-R, the answer to that is no. Not even close. And I get a season out of a set of tires. But hey, why make it cheaper........

I realize that, which is why I included the Smiley Face of Sarcasm after my comment.

I asked CRC about rubber tire for 12th scale when I ordered my club's new carpet. The Answer was "We could, we might but right now,NO." They seem to be putting up with a lot of BS over the spec tire and don't need or want more with the suggestion of trying to bring rubber to 12th....

I don't have any skin in the game as I'm not a 1/12 racer, I was just joking with Howard.

That said, I would have quit RC 10 years ago if sedans still used foam tires.

I default to rubber tatas and liquor, and foam tires in 1/12...

Not to say it's earth shaking news, but we (our club's Comp Committee: Bodine, Harbke, Danilchik, etc.) beat this one flat, held it up to the light, oxidized and anodized it, and had a fist fight in the parking lot.

And then we decided to stay the course with Open Mod.

We did agree that the only really desirable path would be to limit the available battery power in the system. There is a CRC shorty pack out there, though in what quantities and what current condition is hard to know. Plus, it wouldn't work that well with all cars, and then do we turn around and add ballast?--which no one likes--ugh.

But more to the point, we could not make a reasonable case for changing up the general equipment spec for 1/12th given that Stock is thriving while Mod gasps for air. It's the tail trying to wag the dog. Mod has to make do with what's commercially available to Stock racers, otherwise we're just yakkity yakking.

One can understand how, after going through the process, a group comes to the 6.5t/Blinky decision. It's what's possible with what's available.

Good luck to the Halloween Classic with the trial. And maybe the BRCA will see a big uptick in participation as well. This time next year we may be in a different place

I did quit running sedan and went 12th when sedan went all rubber, lol. Now, I have ran a few rubber tired sedans since, but I did quit for a while. Still don't actually own or race one constantly.

Very important and easily overlooked point. It's doubtful any company is going to create a new product specific to a class with so little interest.

While a harder spec tire may be a good idea, I think rubber tires will not do anything good for 1/12 scale. Why? Because step 1 of switching to rubber tires is throw every 1/12 chassis you own in the back of the closet and start over, just like touring car.

Might be a good idea for that GT12 class, so little to differentiate GT12 from all other 1/12 classes as is
But that's a whole other discussion...

Harder tires in Mod 12, harder to drive mod cars, doubt that will help fill the class
