hmm you can always check out ebay. and also what does your LHS have in store? do they sell any drift options?

if your planning to actually do a hands-on job to get your car to drift, go buy some abs piping. cut it and shape it to your liking, make sure it fits nice on your rims though, then take a super thin double back tape and wrap a layer of that on your rim and simply slip on your drift tires that you made. you can also put on a dab of super glue on teh sidewalls, but i dont really consider this cause crashing a few times well just crack off the super glue.

although this is just my opinion, i would recomend you learning how to drift without the hpi D-box d.a.s. im not saying you should, but im just saying my opinion, cause to me the hpi D-boc d.a.s. can be beneficial but its kinda of a cheap way of doing so.

HOLY COW!!! Anthony, welcome back! I haven't seen you on in a long time!!! Hey, do you still drift often? Still drifting the TC3?

I agree with Anthony, don't drift with the drift box. That's cheating. You don't see the real 1:1 guys drifting with a gyro, do ya?

Tamiya TA03F DJ Edition if you can get a hold of one or a the new TA05 with all the hop up parts. I hear nothing but praise for these chassis because of the more balanced design.

hey guys, sorry i kinda fell off the thread for a while, but over the winter i was too busy snowboarding to go out and drift, wich i should have done. cus on my first run down the hill in December, i broke my wrist, put me out untill mid Feb. : ( screwed my season. then when i got back, i got two concussions. this season sucked.

but now its spring, and im looking at getting the dust off the XXX-S and drifting, but i gota get some new tires. so is it Still ABS or has it changed?

In SoCal most of the hard core guys are running Take Off RP-D drift tires. The RP-D is a hard rubber ring the size of a very low profile tire that press onto a rim and are CA'd on place. Performance wise they are right in the middle of ABS (zero traction, little control) and the HPI drift tires (too much traction, unrealistic speeds).

With the RP-D's the cars are much more stable and predictable. They have just enough grip to let the car take a set in the corners and stay drifting predictably until you input a change.
