Any recommendations for setup to start with.

Stiff or soft springs? Caster (not sure if its adjustable on this car)? Camber? Droop?

Any tips would be appreciated.
lets see...go with soft spring and try to lower the car as much a posible and still have room for shock travel...chamber would be around 0 degrees (all round) or you can add a of little of the negative chamber to your liking

run abs and the 19t should be just right

TC4.... still setup for asphalt racing... now have to do teh diff work and suspension setup for drift. Currently drifting tighter anticlockwise than clockwise.

When I try to drift in an anticlockwise direction (turning to the left)the tail tends to snap around, while when I drift in a clockwise direction (turning to the right) the tail movement is less and therefore I can control the slide better.

This appears to be an issue with ALL my TC's (3&4).

I'll try and shoot some vid and post it.

Default Check your servos and radio setting

Sounds like it could be a radio setting problem. Have you checked and made sure you've got equal servo throw each way? You may have one side trimmed out or the servo not centered properly.

It could also be your weight distribution and camber/caster settings. If the car isn't balanced it'll show more in drift than in normal driving.

i noticed and experenced this as well

it has to deal with the front spindles and the weight distribution i believe

but more of the weight distribution as your not always at lock to lock steering

try to balance the car on a set-up station

i always wanted to do that but unfortunatly i dont have the money..i just deal with it and i guess i adapt to the car and use my control of the car to balance the things out (steering and throttle responces)

add quarters to one side untill it works out, or anything else that is heavy enough

Default Drift Video

So this last weekend we had a big race at the Driven To Perform import tuner car show in Vancouver BC. One of our events was drift racing. Drivers were judged by a number of anonymous judges based on amount of drift, style, and total number of laps. I've compiled a video of the drift event and it's now available on my website. Check it out and enjoy the show!

so abs with acarpet gives you that much grip or was it because of the tire adictive on the carpet..i hear it becomes quite sticky when it gets warm

Default very sticky

the abs does get quite sticky if you run if for 3 or 4 races. For one it picks up all the tire compound and foam residue and for another the intense heat that's generated by spinning at high speed on carpet tends to soften the plastic. I made it through all 4 round on one set, but it was new at the start of the day. Other who started with used sets had problems by the end of the day. You really dont want to run on asphalt and then use them on carpet as all the grooves and scratches pick up more crap. On the other hand you can clean the tires off a bit by running them on medium rough concrete between runs.
