DJ all day! The TA03F is like the AE86 of RC drift.

These guys can help you out more than I can:

D1RC TA03

I have one in pieces right now. Originally I was just buying stuff off eBay for it then I stopped. Eventually I'll get back to it but in the back of my head i keep thinking I'm better off just buying a new kit and go from there.

Ok, so I am new to drifting(obviously) and I have a TC4, with home made ABS wheels(for now). Limited to paved and un-finished concrete areas for now. What I am wanting to know, is there a baseline setup for this car. Running all stock equipment that came with the car. To top it off, the funding portion just ran out( wife"s van took care of that!), however I can adjust my methods.
Thanks for any help. PM would be better, but I like sharing info too.

Iv just brought a tt-01e to get back into to on road/ drift sport. Iv ordered a front one way and universals and alum drive shaft. Iv still got my rear diff lock from my last tt-01. Now the question is what else do I need to drift and will my traxxas vxl system be too much power when used on stock gearing with a 6 cell pack?

I can't believe that hasn't sold yet. I just ordered a 3racing chassis or else I'd be all over it.

Since you're trying to run it @ a stock setup I would try playing with the suspension. Maybe try making the front end softer to manipulate the weight transfer. Lock the rear diff too.

I"m debating if I should go with the SD3 (Sakura D3) or get a TA03F Pro Drift from eBay. Money's an issue and I already have a VDF but it's just too damn nice as an anywhere amytime drifter.

I'd say drive it, then from there you should be able to see what could use some adjusting. Maybe someone else here who actually has experience drifting a TC4 can chime in.

D1RC TC4 thread <--You'll definitely find something here!

Drift specific forums are far more helpful when trying to find setup help with your drift car. General RC forums are always too bash or race oriented.

I'm still befuddled how drifting hasn't taken off in the USA. Half the kits and parts I want are only available from web sites completely in Japanese. Kinda sucks.

Just need to look at what's big in the RC and full scale race scene. US: Trucks and NASCAR. World: WRC and anything not trucks and NASCAR!

Really though I think it has more to do with the TC scene. TC racing is still big around the world. In the US, only Associated makes one. Maybe if Traxxas made a real RC drifter it might take off. It would be nice not having to use the isht out of Google just to find something.
