I ran a TSR motor and finished fourth. I also know Pat Barber used a TSR motor to win the A. I think he was also TQ.

I had seen guys that were running 1/12 had 18g wire to the motor but didn't notice if they were using it on the battery side. Will it be to small and would 16g be better?

For 17.5 18g is fine. Anything faster you will need TQ T1000 wire.
