They are a lot of fun to fly man. Takes some time to pick up the collective pitch, but once you get the hang of it, they are a blast.

Yeah I fly some of the micros. The new Blade CX is a nice and one of the easiest helis to fly. The Blade CP is a collectice pitch heli that is alot harder to fly but when you learn is capable of doing stunts like flying upside down.

I fly the Hirobo XRB in the pits sometimes. It is nice to fly indoors as it has foam blades and if it hits something nothing gets hurt.

Stephen:

Hi,

We were thinking about getting some also. mostly to kill time. Mini could handle one with collective pitch. me well..... I'm not sure.
Good Luck at the Novak Race.

This is what I do when I get burn on racing. FYI, its hard to track a 32" span jet going 80mph so don't knock my wife's video skills...lol!

I've presonally got 5 of those little heli's, of various breeds. All of them in a shambles...

The last one I was flying in our warehouse... giving it the gas... spinning faster... faster... faster... feed in the blades... WHOOOOMMM, shot straight up faster than I could let off, and blew into a pile of parts when it hit the ceiling... Total time, box to destruction, about 9 seconds.

Good times...

I'm actually not to bad now, I can finally hover pretty well. That learning curve, for me, was *to put it kindly* a bit rough...

It's always fun to be hanging around a bunch of guys and watch the new guy drill his Helicopter into a wall, the ground, a pole, a table...

Note that the NAVY stickers on the fuselage are gone in the 2nd pic. They blew off during the vid and all the was left was a few black specs on the propellor

Stephen:

Hi,

where are you buying your Heli's ???????? I'll need a ARR one,.......errrrrrr two maybe more. also did you get a 360 yet?????

Bob Stormer:

Hi,

I have never flown a Heli before. I have watched the guys fly the gas ones years ago. Then a friend brought one (electric) to the track a few weeks ago. hovered it and moved around a bit. (really small area). looked like fun. something my son would be good at.

BTW:

you still racing tractors???????

Thanks

Retired as the 7 time national champion the end of 2000. Miss it every day. To many road miles and to much time away from work. By the time you take 2 weeks off before the nats to work on your stuff, shell out $7500 for an engine, take another 2 weeks off to attend the event, gas, hotels, and road expenses for 2 weeks (for 3-4 people), plus whatever else, and it seemed like a person lost about a month of work and $10-$12G every time we went to an event. (and we did about 7 major events a year), plus little one day things closer. And by close, I mean 400-500 miles. ...lol...

SURE WAS FUN THOUGH!!!!

Hi,

I remmember watching you race on Speed Channel. then we changed cable Co's and didn't get Speed until 04. they had cut alot of the "other" racing out. I lost track of what went on.
I always wondered what happened.

well a very belated Congrats on your 7 National Championships.

That looks awesome Adrian. Didn't know you could fly. Enjoyed the vid. Is that a park flyer and is it hard to fly for someone that has never flown before? Interested in a plane or a small heli. Would be fun.
