Thumbs up TEAM AXON SPUR GEARS

Axon is a company based in Japan that offers spur gears for touring car and direct drive classes. I've personally used the direct drive spur gears and they are by far the BEST spur gears I have ever used. The gears are super precise, light weight, and durable. A lot and I mean a lot of drivers in Japan have switched over to these gears.

-My experience-

I know the importance of building a smooth direct drive differential. I use top quality components such as super flat mirror finish differential rings, bearings, ceramic balls, thrust bearings and so on. However, one component I overlooked was the spur gear. That said, one day I installed an Axon direct drive spur gear in both my stock and modified 1/12th cars. These spur gears are so precise they actually improved the differential action even more. I was completely shocked by this. I never thought a spur gear design could have such an impact on the overall differential action.

These are seriously the BEST gears I've used.

Dirtdynamics -

Futaba Pro Shop has started carrying Axon accessories and will do international shipping. Please check their website for information dealing with international sales. Super friendly people to deal with and they can respond to your emails in English.

Randy B - Sorry, the smallest TC spur gear is 100T and Direct Drive is 76T.

I actually run the direct drive on my yokomo in 17.5, I didn't see faster lap times but noticed the spur spun true, slightly better than the panaracer.

Thanks for sharing your experiences on using the direct drive as a TC spur gear.

They are offering a lot of top quality products. I haven't tried the greases or oils yet, but my Japanese racing buddies are loving it.

I've been in Japan for almost 5 years now and will be moving to Tokyo later this year. I'll be in Japan for th long haul.

Are you in Texas for the long haul? Or is it just for educational purposes?

Ed.

I came to South Texas last end of July. The reasons are both. business(research industry and then maybe launch US branch) and pursue professional degree on spare time.
On the other hand, I am racing at RSD with 12th racers every weekend, off course, including Cristian.

When you move to Tokyo, contact Hide Matushima. He is 12th racer as well as fluent in English.
You maybe know his blog: twelblog.
http://twelblog.blogspot.jp

Comming JMRCA, he will attend it for modified racing by Morotech car.
If you want to make new network on Top 12th racers(i.e. Crest Speed Way, Yatabe- Arena), I am pleased to introduce to you.
Have a nice race, hopefully race with you someday.

Unfortunately they don't have TC spurs lower than 100T... would be really nice if they widened their product range with 96T-99T TC spurs, too.

Oh and for other guys here in Europe: Mibosport/Yokomo Europe also stocks and sells Axon products (not only the spur gears but also ball bearings, grease, springs).
