BTW...my next paintjob will be stark red with a yellow hammer and sickle on the hood. Large letters "CCCP" will go down the sides.

Believe it or not, a white or a highly contrasting color with the rest of the body helps with vehicle orientation. The same goes with white or bright yellow wheels. As for why many people see Jspec headlights..well, they did set the bar for paint jobs and people like to see them on their cars.
