BUT you don't need the upper deck in order to have the BB steering from the E. We've found the drivetrain is a little more free with the standard non-E parts. Some of us in Senior Spec run the E bulkheads and shock stays, but use the regular motor mount and gear cap in the back without the upper deck/stiffener. Just stack a pair of 8X5mm bushings on top of the steering links and use a cap screw to hold everything down. Awesome steering feel, easier to get the motor in and out, and the drivetrain just spins forever...

Just an update on the spur gear adapter I made for my car. Last night was the first time I had it on the track and it worked flawlessly. It also ran as quiet as can be. 64 pitch gears are so nice to run. I now have an endless combination of gear ratios.

HI,
just got myself a TT-01 (mobile1 lexus) and the first thing I did was ditch the stock RX/TX and use my DX3R with a sr3100, now my problem is that reverse is kind of hit and miss, some times it works and some times the motor wants to go, but seems to get stuck...?
Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

I will guess no. the center shaft on the TB03 is 5mm diameter and the TT-01 center shaft is 6mm in diameter. also the TB03 spur adapter is too wide (or long) to fit in the TT-01.

If you go back a few pages I posted pictures of a spur gear adapter that I was able to make. The one I made works very well and not hard to make.

If you have questions you can pm me.

I have not tried it. But, there has been mention that the HPI 75104 Spur gear holder can be used .. search this forum.

Can you confirm this? I think the bearings on the input cups are the same as those at the axles which are 5mm inner diameter, not 6mm.

After looking at it more in depth the tb03 spur gear adapter or even the EVO IV one might work. The TB02 was 6mm and the EVO IV and TB03 are 5mm. with some shimming it might work. I might try to get one to experiment with. I do know the one I made works great, but it takes some tinkering with the spur gear to make it fit.

I actually think I am going to try the 3 racing spur gear adapter. i did not realize the the TB03 was that much different than the TB02. The dimensions of the adapter might be alright but it still might be too thick. It might be worth the $10 to try and modifiy it to fit.

As for the gear combinations for 64 pitch gears for the TT-01 here you go

I also figured out the 64 pitch gear combos for the A, B, C, & D motor mount positions.

A 121 total teeth
B 123 total teeth
C 125 total teeth
D 127 total teeth

That is the total teeth needed in any spur and pinion combination. You do have to cut a slit in the motor mount to be able to get an hex wrench in there to be able to tighten the pinion so the pinion meshes properly with the spur.

Good luck, it really is not too hard to make.

hey guys im following a tutorial ive seen before on converting the tt01 to a buggy for offroad but it recommends that you change up the gearing because of the big buggy tyres. im going to make my own spur gear adaptor and i was just wondering what spurs and pinions should i use? i was thinking like a 67 spur and 18 or 19 pinion , but also what pitch of gears should i use? 48 or 64? and if any 1 has gearing suggestions please post them to

thanks

I'm looking to buy spurs for the TT-01. Where is a good place online to get parts for Tamiya kits (other than directly from Tamiya)?
