Is there a difference in performance when using the Johnson motor between the 101/2/3/4/5 esc, as supplied in the kit? An then when using a Novak GTX esc, will there be a difference vs the 101 esc?

No, there is no noticable difference. The Johnson doesn't ask for much power, all of them can easily provide that. 'Bigger' motors might need bigger amp ESCs.

Hi,

did anyone ever succesfully fit a ebbro 350r body to a TT-01 chassis? I have found one but the add says it will only fit IFS-chassis. It is low, but it doesn't seem that low in the front... Input from expecience (pics!) is appreciated!

Cheers,

Hugo

Well, bussy topic, this one. To answer my own question I took the plunge and tried it:

With the chassis at race hight and the wheels centered in the wheel well, there is about half a millimeter clearance between the body and the shock towers. So yes, it does fit. If you raise the car to street bashing levels, the shock towers will be too high.

I degrease them, dry them and used PTFE spray in the past. This season I use a very thin oil by Kroon Oil, Dutch brand, which is sold as 'bicycle oil'. You do need to re-oil every two or three races, as the oil get lost.

Is this the dry chain lube you use? Do you find they have a less friction than your rc bearing oils? Will you use this on your silvercan's bushes as well? In our class here you have to try and squeeze every bit out of the car to be up there in the top 3

Here's what I did, posted a few pages back:

http://www.rctech.net/forum/13559349-post2405.html

Also good springs and dampers (84318) make a difference, though not in rolling resistance.

I don't use a silver can but close; a Cup Machine is mandatory in the class I drive. I degrease the motor using brake cleaner and compressed air, and relube with a few drops of the same oil on the bushes. A squirt of WD40 inside on the brushes will also help marginally.

It looks like you have the basics covered, shocks, alu centre axle. Check (I almost guarantee) ball bearings are fitted.

Proline has a C10:

Don't know about the wheel base, though.

Good luck,

Hugo
