Hi, which motors can stock TT-01D esc handle? Can it handle 13.5T or 10.5T motors? Thanks.

Are you talking with the stock esc or a brushless system?

Waterproof TT01E
I was thinking it would be pretty easy. Use titanium screws, aluminum wheel nuts and keep the kit nylon bearings. Yeah Racing aluminum drive shaft/axles and aluminum propeller joints. Use Traxxas XL5 waterproof speed controller and mount a waterproof Traxxas receiver box somewhere.
Has anyone scanning this forum done this? Is it as easy as it seems?

mine is water proof. you dont need to go to that extent to make it water proof though.

i got this ESC/motor combo from towerhobbies:

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXCACZ

the ESC is completely sealed up and water proof. my steering servo is a water proof one from a Traxxas slash, but you can easily water proof any servo with shoe goo. then i put my receiver inside of a balloon and shoe gooed the end where the wires come out to make sure no water or dust could get in, and thats it. shes good to go. will be safe in most situations, but if you really want to go freaking drive it under water, just make sure you dry it off really good, maybe use an air compressor and/or a hair dryer.

You can also try to have some toe-out of the front wheels, this will give you more insteer when turning.

I just picked up a Tamiya TT01R Type-E kit.

I plan on just using it in the street and parking lots.

What upgrades do you think it needs right away? What brushless system do you guys recommend for it?

just for running around parking lots, the stock TT01E is pretty decent. but if you really want upgrades, i would look into some nice oil filled shocks. they will reduce bouncing and smooth out your handling. the biggest upgrade will be your tires. buy some nice racing tires and your car will feel TOTALLY different. then after that, its totally up to you. i perfer more setup tunability, so i got adustable steering links to set toe.

as for brushless set up, i got this:

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXCACZ

the Kv isnt super rediculous (but still fast) so it doesnt wear as hard, and its completely water proof
