Default which brushless?

hi all. i'm building up a tt-01r and needed help with which brushless system to get. i'm not gonna be racing this thing, just parking lot bashing. I've been doing some research and noticed that a lot of people are running the ezrun combo. I was originally gonna go with the novak havoc system, but had read all sorts of horror stories on this forum. I am looking for something comparable to a modified stock brushed motor (19t i believe). I've been told that the 13t brushless is equivalent. So which system should i get? the 13t ezrun combo or the 13.5t ezrun combo? OR if there is any other brushless systems you'd recommend, that'd be great. My budget is around 150. Thanks in advance!

Take a look at the ezrun systems on Nitrorcx.com. Their prices are good.

get the 13.5t for sure, you'll wanna get the systems with .5 because they have full 540 rotors rather than 380. more torque. i am VERY happy with my system. hey mytt01, whats with the different tyres on each side?
i just got a castle sidewinder system 4600kv, very quick, but the brake and the drag brake are seriously poor, i don't have a PC, only mac, so i am unable to update it.

oh i just swapped out one side of the car to my dish wheels. and how come you didnt get the novak gtb spec or pro? i have the 8.5 and man that thing flies. what i do is on my transmitter i have a epa setting(end point adjustment). max is 140% which is the full potential of my 8.5 and if i just tone it down to 115% it is equivalent to a 10.5(im just guessing) but what im trying to say is that i can make my 8.5 go as fast as a 10.5 13.5 or a 17.5. i like doing that becuase when i race i always turn it down to a 10.5. im not sure if you or anyone else likes to do that but i really like that setting. oh and the braking on the gtb is great!!

Does anyone have a decent set-up for a TT01 type E ?

I just bought a TT01R type E and wanted a baseline set-up to start.
It will have a 27 turns motor.

Thanks

Yes, shorter and narrower than the stock 1:10 TT01. About the same width as the Tamiya Mini.

Do you know if the Tamiya Mini Bodies fit? Need any adaptation?

Starteur - I ran my TT01E all summer in parking lot races with the 25/55 gear ratio, Tamiya yellow springs all around, HPI X-pattern pro compound tires, Tamiya plastic oil shocks ( I'll have to check my notes for the oil I used), the shock position in the front was the inside position, and the shock position in the rear was the outside position. It handled very well. The X-pattern pro's were great.

A question about LIPO conversion

A friend of mine suggests that I cut the "ribs" of the place where the battery would go (to flat it out).He says that the vibrations caused by those ribs could damage the battery. I have a normal 7,4 LIPO (not hardcase)

Do you think this is necessary?
