Digital Servo Question
 

I am looking for a new servo and was thinking about getting a digital servo. Of two what ones is suggested? I am looking for something that will work for my TC4, B4, and T4.

I assume the Hitec would be best one for me?

That futaba is about the best bang for the buck there is at the moment, in terms of quality servos.

Stay away from Hitec....

I've used both in everything from sedans to 1/8th scale buggies and truggies and they work great. Plus they have a 3 year warantee too.

this is getting old. recentering issue is the problem from the past. do you have any experience with hitec servos or you just heard it from someones neighbors friend?

I use exactly that Hitec servo.

Actually, i've used both futaba and hitec servo's in the past and haven't had a problem with either.

The hitec will serve you well. Fast and reliable.
Many many ppl run the futaba unit but it's a little pricey. Then again, it's a little smaller too.

The Hitec titanium line have been great servos. Many people have reported they are 100 times more reliable than the older Hitec servos.

Between my father and I, we have three bad HS-645MG Hitec servos sitting on a shelf to keep as a reminder. They all went bad so quick I didn't even bother sending them back. There's about $120 sitting there. Will I buy a Hitec again? :ha:

I'm running an older Airtronics 94360 (believe correct#) I picked up from a friend that has been working great. I'd look into a Futaba S9451 or the JR.

I've had both servo's and they are both great. As far as Hitec is concerned, if you buy a cheap servo, you get a cheap servo. If you buy a good digital servo, it is as good as any other servo on the market. It makes me laugh every time someone trys to compare their $40 Hitec 625 to a $100 digital servo. It's like comparing a Plymouth to a Porsche!

And why would anyone want a Plymouth :ha: :lol: ;)

I had a hitec in my 12th scale, would not centre.

I had a hitec HS625 in my MF2 truck, caused voltage overload when turning quickly.

I had a hitec 925 in my buggy, again, started drifting.

Sorry if I didnt give more information.

I currently run 9451s in my lazer and B4.

I run 94358s in my 8th scale, a futaba 9550 and 9000s in my sedans and a 94145 in my 12th scale.

No problems with any.

If your considering paying $80+ for the Hitec 5925, I would suggest to put $15 or so more dollars into it and get either airtronics 94357 or 94758 for $95-$100.They are a bit faster and airtronics are known to be some of the best around.

I have two Futaba 9451, I've run one in my touring car for 2 years now and never a problem and the other I ran in an 1/8 scale buggy for about 10 races and again never a problem. I'm very happy with this servos.

i have airtronics 94145 in my 1/12th and for some reason it will stop working in the middle of a race then it will go on and off.. . basically nothing is perfect all brands has their boo boos

i too have had problems with hitec servos in the past (ie the 645 mg)

then i went to the ko 713 fet servo

recently i have purchased a hitec digital servo (cant rememebr the part number ) and although it is not the fastest servo (though i did buy it for torque) it is certainly the most reliable and smoothest servo i ahve ever had cant fault it in any way although if i were buying again i would buy the faster version rather than the torquey version
