Default Removing premounted tires

Hi there, I just purchased a set of RP premounted rubber tires. After a bad crash due to a messed up spektrum, I cracked the rim . I just want to ask if any of you had any success on removing premounted tires? I just don't want to get rid of my tires since it's fairly new. I tried removing it with acetone, dipping it in boiling water to no success.

Any other tips or advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Did you soak it on acetone overnight?

that's right. the tires are almost new. I tried putting it in the oven last night for 15 mins at 200f and I still cant pry the tires off. These are premounted RP30 tires. I'm just wondering if they use a different kind of glue instead of the CA.

I also boiled it for 20 but no success.

Thanks.
I have had exactly the same thing happen with two sets of Pre-mounted RP24's. I am at the point of never getting the Pre-mounted again, as I believe that the quality of RP's rims is very low.

Both sets of rims cracked very easily, and I am left with almost brand new Tyres.

What is RP's website? Or Take Off's, I have tried finding, but no luck!

So which method is the best solution?

Boiling the tires are the best solution. Acetone will work if you don't want the tire. I also heard acetone will make the rims lose strength. The oven method works but will stink like crazy. If you have tried 20mins try a little longer then. I boiled mine for 30mins & they came of semi clean. Few little spots had glue left on the rim.

You guys do know you can buy the tires and inserts separately right?

CS27 = 1pr tires w/inserts.
CS27GL = 4pk CS27 Pre-mounts

RP30 - 4pk tires w/o inserts
RPM = 4pk RP Med inserts
RP30GL = 4pk RP30 Pre-mounts

Yes, where I run they must be pre-glued & mounted.

I use the oven method at 350F. It's cheap if you do it AFTER cooking a meal. Just switch off and put the tires in for about 45 minutes.

Do you do that on premounted ones?

I have taken an interest in this thread because some of my local guys run spec class, CS-27GL, but of course they are beginners and will crack the wheels often and the tires become useless. And for high school kids and novice, it's not feasible to buy a new set because 1 wheel is cracked or center broken. I'll check to see if the owner of the track will allow re-mount CS-27 and inserts onto say a more stout wheel, but it's definitely a lot more cost effective for these spec racers.

I have tried boiling for 1/2 hr and nothing is budging at all. I guess next step will be to try the oven method.... but I can imagine your kitchen will have a not so pleasant spell afterwards...

I hope you tires are not saturated with Paragon or you are going to have a stanky kitchen and an angry significant other
