My 2 cents!
It looks eye candy and I heared it comes in different colors. The EVO 3 looks great too it's just a few months older, (darn it's like computers). I would think that the EVO 3 is built better...you know being Tamiya.
Anyway, Diffuser's right at this point the separation will be the driver and your setup.

izzy,

i have only ever seen the barracuda in the magazines, and never on the race track or in person.

so i would have to say the evo III would be your best bet.

also it uses the same tested and proven suspension that tamiya has been using for the last 3 and a half years.

yup, i agree here too... that one little 1mm spacer put in the right spot can be the difference between clearing the next turn or ripping your car's arm off banging the wall.

As a guy who drives all three top of the line tourers on a regular basis-I gotta agree with Difuser also!! On any day-depending on conditions-any one of my three cars is great!! To be honest--I would feel comfortable racing any of them at anytime!!! I would put it like this though.

Mod Sedan Foam or rubber tire on Carpet- Losi Gp+us or EVO3

19 turn or Stock Sedan Foam tire on Carpet- TC3

Outdoors- any tire Losi or EVO3

Low grip conditions- EVO3

High Grip Conditions- TC3

But thats just my opinion!!!

Well Dan Thanks for a brief introduction
Yes skill level can help but I think I've got my Barracuda(original) way too early and I had no support and set up information.
Both company makes a great car! But like Dan said,
"it's really down to how YOU drive the car and if YOU understand how it works so you can adjust to conditions." This is why I've got TA04, shaft drive did not fit my driving style and I knew more about Tamiya cars(i had TA03 Pro) than anything else. Plus we have a great local racer like Dan and Peter which I can get a help quickly.
That's a key to having fun with this hobby!
This is my 2 Japanese Yen

sounds like stan will have me racin at the track this summer rather than workin in the shop, si it'll be on in the nitro class.

i can't wait to run my nitro car because i only got to run it once last year.

and i will be running my EVO III in the mod class, so we can battle in both nitro and electric!!!
